Omo, see how an expressway was constructed in such a strategic part of the city/state. This is not Ikorodu, Badagry, Epe, or Aj City. This is the Lekki–Ajah section of the Lekki–Epe Expressway, one of the most prominent and visible corridors in Lagos, where about 97% of both local and international visitors are likely to pass. When people see roads like this, it can make them judge the government harshly and see it as unserious or unworthy of trust. Even if this road is temporary pending the commencement of the Green Line, the government should urgently call the attention of the contractors to fix it properly and use the opportunity to construct standard drainage. The Green Line is not yet under construction, so the road can still be overhauled later. But it is not good to leave it in this condition. Honestly, I miss Madam Engr Mide Adeyoye. Just like the LAMATA woman, she is a seasoned engineer. If she were still in office, I doubt these contractors would attempt this kind of work because she personally supervised projects. Just look at the section of the road completed before she left,it is very solid. She also constructed Pen Cinema and was planning to use the same design for the VGC Bridge before she left. Government should please help us by appointing round pegs in round holes. It ultimately brings praise to the government itself. Please, sir, let the contractors return to site and fix this road before it gets worse. Many residents rely on this corridor every day. Please help us sir. Having driven down to Maphisa yesterday to celebrate the 46th anniversary of Zimbabwe’s Independence I remain deeply concerned about the state of the road to Maphisa. Although construction work has been done on virtually the whole length of the road it is nowhere near finished. In fact for much of the length of the road all that has been done is the grading of either side of what used to be narrow tar. The narrow bridges remain the same and the old narrow tar is in very bad condition. In fact most the road was extremely dangerous. I recognize that contractors are still on site and had parked their construction vehicles to facilitate the high volume of traffic yesterday, so remain hopeful that they will remain on the road until it has been completed all the way from Bulawayo to Maphisa. My fear is that now that Independence Day is over that the contractors will move elsewhere leaving most of the road in a worse state than it was before the work started. I have already had one report of construction vehicles being moved to Masvingo and hope that isn’t going to be a trend. I call on Government to confirm that construction will continue along the entire length of the road and to give an indication when it expects the road to be finished.

The contractor handling the Abeokuta-Ota-Lagos Road project has almost completed the rehabilitation and reconstruction of the section between Abeokuta and Papalanto, making the journey along this axis smooth and stress-free. Work is also progressing steadily between Papalanto, Ifo, and Sango, where construction activities are ongoing to deliver a durable and motorable road for the benefit of all. This project, though a federal road, was formally handed over to us after several years of failed interventions, and we took it upon ourselves to ensure it is fixed once and for all. During the rainy season, or when a vehicle breaks down, the resulting gridlock can leave travellers stranded for days, sometimes weeks, and on occasion, close to a month, exposing travellers to serious safety risks. We call on Federal Ministry of Works, and the Borno State Gov't to provide the public with details of how the funds disbursed for this project was used and to urgently mobilise the contractor to site.

Yesterday's rainfall wreaked severe damage on the diversion around a bridge in my hometown of Ahwiam. The road is currently under construction, and a new bridge is being constructed to replace the failing one. The contractor had created a diversion as an interim measure, which was flooded. Last night and this morning, I engaged with the contractor, and this afternoon, remedial work commenced to address the issue. I will continue to work with the contractor and the Roads Ministry to expedite the road's completion. I remain committed to working with my District Chief Executive to address challenges expeditiously. Our focus remains on producing results. For God and Country. 🦁🇬🇭

Today, I inspected the ongoing construction works on the Masaka–Kyotera–Mutukula Road, a strategic regional corridor that connects Uganda to the United Republic of Tanzania and serves as a vital route for trade, tourism and cross-border movement. I am concerned that with only two years remaining on the contract, just about 30% of the works have been completed. This pace is not satisfactory for a project of such national and regional importance. I directed the contractor to intensify dust suppression by regularly watering the entire corridor, to prevent accidents which have become a common occurrence due to the dust and lack of speed humps. The contractor has 90 days to commence tarmarcing of the road! Ministry of Works & Transport will maintain close supervision of this project to ensure improved performance, adherence to quality standards and timely delivery.
