Ab training simplified to make them thicker. Thicker the abs, the more they’ll pop out even at a higher body fat. Train them 3-5x a week. Day 1: Do some variation of a weighted crunch. I’ll hold a 25 lb plate behind my head, elevate my feet on a bench, and focus on a good contraction with a pause at the top of every rep or do a cable crunch. This is going to primarily work your upper abs. Day 2: Do some sort of leg raise variation. I either do toes to bars or elbow/hanging supported leg raise holding a DB between my feet. This is going to primarily work your lower abs. Day 3: Do some sort of core bracing movement. I either do a weighted plank, ab wheel, or russian twist holding a medicine ball or DB. This is going to primarily work your obliques. Day 4/5: Either a mixture of all 3 above or hammer whatever I feel is a weakness. Using this method over the years is how I’ve built a strong core along with thickening up my abs. Diet is going to reveal the abs. Training them with weights are what’s going to grow them and get them to pop more just like any other muscle.
