Do not get them wet. My friend almost killed his cat (it was never the same and died not that much later) by getting it wet in a heatwave thinking it would help. It makes things far worse as the heat is now trapped in the fur and if done for long periods can be lethal.

Cats are surprisingly OK in the heat! I got my cat AC for the porch because sometime she is confined there and heat can easily hit 100F in summer. BIG WASTE. She'll slink out to the porch in summer -- when she doesn't have to -- and lay about with no AC. Yea, she loves it. I confess: I don't get it. In a fur coat no less???????

same with my ragdoll, she has so much fur, but still loves the heat in the British heatwave. i just follow her lead and make sure she’s hydrated, fed and loved ✨

My black cat absolutely loves the heat. She will lay out on the concrete driveway in the sun in 100 degree weather just sunbathing. I don't know how she doesn't overheat, but she's happy and comfortable.

cats are amazing, as cat parents we have to allow them to just be. as long as we’re here to feed them, hydrate them and love them. they’re way smarter than humans 😹

My cat had a heatstroke yesterday. I've learned to NOT use cold water. It has to bee room temperature. You can cover them with a lukewarm wet cloth. The body will heat up because of the cold, that's why you must never use cold water in the heat with cats. 🐱
