Honestly thats not how light works unles the ceiling light is directive , yes the light should be moved over but very slightly not all the way to the cabinet , and the under lighting wud not be over a stove as the stove top should be clear in case fire/heat or splashes.

Something else to consider is the upper cabinet doors. Make sure they do not hit the light fixture when you open them
