Costco’s been like that though. That ain’t new. To skirt around the membership issue, get a Costco gift card and you can use that to shop without a membership.

God, I called ahead throughout the pandemic to make sure I could go shop for my elderly and compromised family members with Costco and they said yes that’s fine, took my name down, and STILL gave me a hard time after it was WAY too crowded to shop in March of 2020 I nearly cried

Oh yeah, you have to have your own personal card with your pic on it. You can be under your parents account, like I am, but you still need your own card. I know the reason they do it, so it’s basic procedure for any membership only establishments.
