The party won two mayoralties and achieved a narrow victory in the Runcorn & Helsby parliamentary by-election, flipping a traditionally safe Labour seat by just six votes. The Conservatives faced a substantial setback, losing control of all 15 councils they previously held. British politics is moving to the right!
