Dogs are smarter than the smartest dog robot. Dogs sense things you can't code into a robot. Plus a dog can extend a mutual trust into a relationship, which is so valuable to the well being of human and dog.

I'm more interested in robots that can replace these "emotional support" animals that people have.

Won’t be giving the affections of a dog or the company or the understanding or the cuddles or the love a dog (in most cases better than humans) can give

Dogs tend not to break down, and they also usually, continue to work when tripped over/stood on, etc. Not sure I'd feel safe with a robot
