Dogs are smarter than the smartest dog robot. Dogs sense things you can't code into a robot. Plus a dog can extend a mutual trust into a relationship, which is so valuable to the well being of human and dog.

Dogs tend not to break down, and they also usually, continue to work when tripped over/stood on, etc. Not sure I'd feel safe with a robot
