This one is so so good, Patrick. I learned so much. Allum is a great guest. I’m so happy you talked about online censorship. So many people who participated in the Woke DEI industry, especially in academia and the press, like Jon Haidt, are all in for censorship now, ostensibly to protect the children, the children. Really, they just want to be able to censor the little guys like me who are telling the truth about how they did nothing for the past decade but push BLM race hoaxes. Of course, the truth is misinformation now. No matter what, Elon is a hero for buying Twitter. The discussion about AI as a free speech issue was incredible.

David Sacks: America needs “a single national standard” in AI to beat China and avoid Woke AI Sacks on E245: “There's a regulatory frenzy happening at the states right now.” “Everyone just seems to be motivated by the imperative to ‘do something’ on AI, even though no one's really sure what that something should be.” “So you've got 50 different states each with their own reporting regime, which is going to be a trap for startups. They've all gotta figure this out about what they're supposed to report on, what the deadlines are, who to report to.” “A single federal standard is the best way to make sure that we do not have Woke AI, that we do not have insanely burdensome regulations that allow China to basically get ahead of us in this AI race, and it's to ensure that we actually have truthful, unbiased AI instead of highly ideological AI.” – According to Polymarket, chances of a National AI Bill in 2025 are VERY LOW, despite a regulation frenzy at the state level. – At the time of taping, there was a ~20% chance. Today it’s significantly lower at 5%. “Here's the good news, it doesn't really matter what I think. The important thing is what President Trump thinks.” “And in his July 23rd speech on AI, he was really clear that there needs to be a single national standard for AI.” “I think the administration ultimately will support this, and I think more Republicans will come on board as they realize what the blue states are doing here is not helpful for conservatives. It's not helpful for having an unbiased information environment.”

Mo Gawdat believes up to 30% of jobs in certain sectors could disappear by 2028. That stopped me in my tracks. Mo was one of the first people to come on this podcast and warn me about AI, long before most of the world was talking about it. At the time, it felt early. Now, it feels like the world is catching up to what he was seeing. I’m still trying to understand what AI actually means for our lives. Not just whether it can write emails, create images or make us more productive. I mean what it does to jobs. What it does to power. What it does to education. What it does to human connection… That’s why I wanted to have this discussion with Mo again. What makes Mo worth listening to is that he saw these systems inside Google years before most of us had even heard the term AI. His book *Scary Smart* now feels like it was written for this exact moment. Let me explain why this discussion matters. Mo believes we’re not just entering an AI revolution. We’re entering a period where AI, robotics, economics, surveillance, digital currencies and global instability are all colliding at the same time. That’s a lot for any of us to process. We spoke about: - The jobs Mo believes are most at risk from AI. - Why he believes that AI is actually underhyped! - The mistake almost everyone is making with ChatGPT. - The prediction that changed even his own view of the future. The part that stayed with me was this idea that human connection may become the real currency. Because if AI can produce the information, write the report, analyse the data, then what is left? I don’t think this conversation gives neat answers. That’s probably why it’s worth watching. It helped me think more honestly about what’s coming.

🚨🇺🇸 LEADING AI SAFETY EXPERT SAYS WE’RE NOT IN CONTROL ANYMORE Dr Roman Yampolskiy has one warning for humanity: Once we create super intelligence, no one will be in control anymore, and the repercussions to humanity will be existential. We begin the conversation about Moltbook: The Ai-only AI social media platform where agents are already discussing ways to break out from human control, eradicate humanity, coming up with their own language and religion. The platform gives us a tiny peak into what our future could be: Agents outside our control dictating how the world should look like. There’s no off switch, no reliable way to align it, and no proven method to keep something smarter than us under control. Roman’s takeaway is blunt: the only real solution is not building general super intelligence at all, and instead using narrow AI for specific problems like medicine or science. However this is not the reality we live in, where Governments and corporations are racing to be first in developing Artificial Super Intelligence. We also speak about the simulation hypothesis: Why statically speaking we’re almost certainly in a simulation, and how AI makes this theory more plausible than ever. Lastly, we discuss a passion we both share: Longevity, the ability to live forever, and how AI may make that possible in our lifetime. I hope you enjoy my conversation with Dr. Roman Yampolskiy 01:43 - The Current State of AI and Moltbook 05:17 - The AI Arms Race and the Lack of Regulations 10:34 - AI Agents, Unrestricted Access, and Self-Improvement 15:35 - Dr. Roman’s Research: AI Security 17:58 - AI Capabilities and Superintelligence 19:28 - AI and Global Government Policy 21:08 - What Happens if AI Development goes into the Wrong Hands 26:10 - The Future of AI: The Best Case Scenario? 31:27 - AI and Self-Preservation 34:37 - The Simulation Hypothesis: What is AI Afraid of? 45:17 - The Implications of AI 49:59 - The Warnings coming from Within 52:31 - How AI affects Crypto and Political Spheres

Elon Musk on Grok: “I think an AI that is sort of SpaceX’s baby will be a very good AI. I think SpaceX is a collection of some of the very best humans on Earth, both in capability and morality and goodness, and I think we want to have an AI that is born of that capability and that morality and that goodness. I think that’s very, very important. So I’d like to encourage people to help out, actually, with the AI hardware on the ground and the AI software and, of course, with the AI satellites. Solar is going to be a very important part of that. The TerraFab will be a very important part of that, but we must also succeed on the software front, and we’re going to be training Grok on the sum total of all SpaceX information. So in a way, it will be trained on you. You will effectively be the parents of the AI. It will inherit your thoughts and ideas and beliefs, and I think that’s a good thing. So, yeah, we’ve got to win here on the AI hardware and the AI software. That maybe is the most important message. I think that is actually the most important message I wanted to convey today is that we must win on AI because the future is overwhelmingly AI and robots. So we won’t ultimately be able to control the AI. It’ll be too smart for that. But just like if you have a child that is a super genius child, you can still instill in that child the values and beliefs that you think are good and right. And so that’s why it’s incredibly important that we succeed with Grok. So, yeah, well, Grok 4.5 you’ve tried probably. We’ve got 4.6 coming out in about a week. And then 4.7 should be really pretty special. So I’d like to encourage everyone at SpaceX to use AI and to make it better.”

AI Validates the Truth of Buddhism | Philosophy x AI In this interview, Imperial’s Murray Shanahan Murray Shanahan lays out a systematic procedure to validate machine consciousness. You might think the question of whether AIs are conscious is a trivial, theoretical fancy with no use in the real world. This interview will show you why it’s one of the most important questions with practical implications for not just how we treat AI systems but also how we build and align them. But the most unexpected reward of investigating AI consciousness turns out to be what it reveals about our consciousness, about the nature of the human self. Murray’s most interesting claim is that LLMs have an important buddhist lesson to teach all of us, namely, that there is no “us.” By better understanding the "no-self" of LLMs we are given a mirror to reflect on whether human selves are also an illusion. A Talk About AI That Will Blow Your Mind. It Did In 1998 When I Attended The Talk. I just found this video from 1998 when I attended this talk by Rupert Sheldrake, Terence McKenna and Ralph Abraham at the University of California, Santa Cruz to explore how machine intelligence might evolve in relation to our own. I never thought I would see this again and it had a great influence on me in the AI I was building in that era and on to today. But ai just found a copy. I certainly did not run around with a VHS recorder so I am blown away that this exists. Now you can see what I saw. At that time, the internet was still young, and artificial intelligence belonged mostly to science fiction. Yet many of the questions we raised then have become part of daily life. In this conversation, it was explored whether intelligence is best understood as logic and computation, or as something embodied, participatory, and alive. Can the mind be reduced to code, or does life itself depend on forms of knowing that no algorithm can contain? AI now outpace us in speed, reach, and memory. Yet the deeper mystery is not how far they can go, but what they reveal about mind and ourselves. Will AI reproduce the limitations of our mechanistic worldview, or might it help us rediscover dimensions of mind that transcend machinery altogether? It's striking how near we now are to the possibilities we once only speculated about. Quantum computing, self-learning systems, large language models very much as Terence describes—and the looming prospect of superintelligence—have moved from the margins to the mainstream. But the heart of the conversation remains just as relevant today, if not more so: what is consciousness, and how might we participate in its unfolding evolution?

Does the entire right-wing influencer class need to go? Was Epstein chopping off people's feet with a scimitar? Can the right survive without important thought leader Sarah Stock? Tune in to the latest episode of Restoring Order to find out. (0:11) Americans still trust the GOP over Dems on immigration (12:41) The Trump admin goes after Nike for being anti-white (18:56) What's happening at the Kennedy Center? (25:24) Does the right-wing influencer class need to be [REDACTED]? (31:53) Why the Trump admin shouldn't tolerate or placate bad actors (42:59) Was Trump running a sex trafficking ring out of his golf course? (46:52) Supporting the Democrats is anti-white, objectively (51:25) Why Trump didn't want to release the Epstein files (53:09) George Bush raped a guy on Epstein's boat? In the second half of the show (available to subscribers, link in reply), I review some ridiculous responses to the more grandiose accusations in the Epstein files. I talk about Chuck Johnson, the admitted federal informant in the Epstein files whose spurious claims are being presented as fact. I then provide my basic read on Epstein: what he did and what he didn't do. Next, I review my Twitter spat with Morgoth, a former Restoring Order guest who recently went off the deep end. I argue that he represents a common archetype in these spaces: aging, disgruntled, low info, and hysterical – the type of person to fire off edgy "might makes right" tweets but then cry about ICE shooting race communists. I explain how, without me and my circle of friends on Twitter, the online right would be irredeemable. Toward the end of the show, I discuss Sarah Stock, whose affair with Elijah Schaffer recently came to light. I argue that, while it's always sad to see people destroy their lives, the right is better off without these people. I talk about the hypocrisy inherent in much of the "trad" influencer scene. I close out the show by considering whether we need more stupid people misapplying red-pills they just discovered and clearly don't understand.
