This carrier is tied to at least four other businesses. This was their fifth truck crash. They average 2.67 violations every time they are inspected and get put OOS at least 50% of the time. Their most recent violations include maintenance issues and drivers operating without a valid CDL or medical card. Vehicles crash into buildings more than 100 times a day in America. That means this is not some freak once in a lifetime event. It happens constantly. In this Colorado crash, police say the semi came off Santa Fe Drive, went off the road, hit a parked car, and shoved it into a QuikTrip building. The wall partially collapsed. The person inside the parked car had to be rescued. There were employees and customers inside the building. The driver reportedly claimed brake failure, but investigators said they found no mechanical issue with the truck and cited him for careless driving causing bodily injury. This is who we, as in our families, are sharing the road with and this one is not even as bad as some others. By the time a truck is plowing into a gas station, the real story usually started long before the day of the crash. It started with what kind of carrier was allowed to keep operating like this. It started with what kind of truck was allowed on the road. It started with what kind of driver was put behind the wheel. It started with what kind of violations were tolerated. A suspect driving a stolen truck went on the rampage this afternoon, apparently after a disagreement with his employer. The Malawian man – a truck driver – rammed into several cars and a pedestrian during his wild ride. Police officers, including Umlazi K9 members, gave chase but the trucker also smashed into another police car. According to the SAPS, members fired at the vehicle to neutralise the threat, and the suspect was subsequently struck and wounded. The heavy vehicle eventually came to rest on Underwood Road in Pinetown. AlsParamedics says, “Paramedics arrived on the scene to find SAPS had closed off the entire roadway. Paramedics found multiple vehicles damaged some with bullet holes and others after the crash. The scene was over a short distance and Paramedics assessed the scene. A truck that was allegedly driven by a suspect had collided head on into a SAPS vehicle whilst being chased by other SAPS members. The truck was found badly damaged as a result of the crash as well as bullet holes. The driver had sustained multiple gunshot wounds to his upper body and was stabilised on the scene by Advanced Life Support Paramedics before being transported to hospital under police guard. Car wash employee's unauthorized joyride leads to tragic collision in Acornhoek The horrific incident that took place in Acornhoek near The Village guest house along the R40 road on Sunday afternoon was captured on CCTV cameras. The footage shows the events leading up to the tragedy, involving a White VW Golf 7, a Polo, and a tipper truck. Reportedly, a car wash employee took a police Golf 7 vehicle which was there to be washed, without permission to buy equipment for the business. Kudos to Kevin Kisner getting the REAL issue when it comes to the modern golf ball… While discussing the ball Ray Floyd used to win the 1986 U.S. Open at Shinnecock, he correctly references SPIN more than SPEED. Yes, the modern ball flys WAY farther, but the easiest fix would be to mandate more spin on the ball. The worst part of the ball traveling insane distances is that, because of no real spin, the mishits do not go off line NEARLY as much as they used to. If the spin returned, hitting a 350 yard drive would carry with it the HUGE risk of a mishit heading for deep trouble, even bringing many out of bounds back into play. As a result, not only would hitting a driver create far more drama than it currently does, it would cause most players to self regulate by hitting 3-woods and irons off the tee to keep the ball in play. This would effectively solve the distance problem because it would cause significantly longer shots to be played into the greens.
