@taejinnied The American music industry is beyond stupid. It's not about excellence in music because if it was, they wouldn't need racial categories. Unbelievable. BTS doesn't need an Asian category. They're the best and most beloved artists on earth. The Grammys so obviously suck.
Grammys had 4 whole years of BTS’s hiatus to introduce an Asian category if they actually cared about representation. They did same to Beyoncé & Bad Bunny, they create new boxes to herd POC artists into so they don't have to give them major awards. They're terrified of BTS.

@KakePop7 I don’t think their songs qualify for the new category. Here are the qualifications. Someone like Big Bunny would qualify if his songs were Korean. He have very little if any English in music.

I would not force the issue of the Grammy. It’s so political. Look at Lana Del Rey, how many times was she nominated and it always goes to T Swift. So they create another category so they don’t bag the major one and win the “lesser” one - that’s racist.

Why are you assuming they can't win a main award? Because of them, many other US awards shows have added that category AND BTS or its members have won main awards as well. Don't underestimate them.
