In fact, it obtained around 400,000 Bitcoin over the past decade through criminal and civil forfeitures and seizures. And so the government has to have a strategy for how it deals with this. In the past, the strategy has been simply to sell it in an ad hoc way, almost willy-nilly, and that cost American taxpayers something like $17 billion in lost value. So we want to have a long-term strategy to maximize the value of these holdings. We’ve decided that Bitcoin is scarce, it’s valuable, and it is strategic for the United States to hold on to this as a long-term reserve asset. So that’s the plan with the 200,000 Bitcoin that we believe are in the possession of the federal government. I say 'we believe' because no one really knows for sure since we’ve never had a proper audit. That’s one of the first things this executive order provides: we’re going to do a full government-wide audit to find out what digital assets we actually have so they can be safeguarded and moved into a strategy that maximizes their long-term value."

If you're going to survive in crypto, you have to accept what it actually is. You're going to get 35% pullbacks. You'll get 50% drawdowns. None of it matters if you understand what you own. The core of what you hold should be a small handful of networks with real, provable long-term value and genuine adoption. Get that right, and the drawdowns stop being terrifying. They become the point. Because this is a long game. I think these networks become the pension for an entire generation. You don't trade your way there. You build a thesis, you accumulate, you keep something back for the big sell-offs, and you let time and adoption do the work. The volatility is the price of admission. The people who make it are the ones who stop flinching at it.

I still love real estate, but I’ve learned the hard way that debt can destroy even the best investment. While commercial real estate has gone through a major correction since the pandemic, that has also created new opportunities for investors willing to be patient and disciplined. My preferred approach is simple, buy properties in neighborhoods you know, keep leverage low, take care of your tenants, and think long term. The biggest mistake I see investors make is using too much debt. When markets correct or unexpected events happen, leverage can wipe you out. Real estate can build tremendous wealth, but only if you survive long enough to benefit from it.
