Chapter 1 Pre-Alpha "Explore. Craft. Survive." will be dropping this quarter welcoming the very first inhabitants to #E2V1 & introduce early mechanics that will form the foundation of life inside #Earth2🌍✌️ Read below for important details: This update is no longer a simple avatar release but a significant update to the entire foundation of the #E2V1 world. When I first talked about dropping avatars I was eager to keep things moving and referred to a very simple system to test skins and movement, then to subsequently implement the full version after that. While this approach would have brought new content out quickly, it could have turned into weeks of extra development time with little upside for the wider community, apart from testing the movement and appearance of the avatars, there would have been little else to do until another subsequent update. Therefore I made the decision to focus solely on implementing the core part of the full system we plan to use long term on the platform. I apologise that this release will take a little longer than originally anticipated, having moved away from the initial lower spec'd plan, but I'd like to get this right & ready for a wider audience to start using and enjoying. As much as I'd love to push out updates faster, I will be taking this approach to #E2V1 development in the future as well. The plan will still be to release to our testing group first after our internal QA, test and then stabilise. If all looks good and we're happy with how everything is performing, we will push forward with a public release. There will inevitably be ongoing adjustments, additions and tweaks to these type of systems over time. It may seem like a long time, but #E2V1 was only released to our testing group 7 weeks ago! How crazy is that? I know for me it feels like many months already. Nonetheless, during this short period of time we have not only released a couple of updated versions, and an updated version to the Earth 2 Launcher, but the team has also been working incredibly hard on the #E2V1 and #BE mechanics for the Chapter 1 systems - and there is a lot involved in this upcoming release. We will be dropping an article later this week, which I believe will help our community understand the extensive list of features planned for this release and in turn explain why it is taking a little longer. I'd rather not spoil all of the details, but the article contains a lot of information about the various systems we're developing including rules of life, avatar synthesisation, death, saving, skins, day/night cycles, free to play model, avatar vitals, how land ownership fits in with all of this and much more. It is important to keep in mind that each of these systems needed to be designed and implemented, which takes time. The article will also begin to reveal some of the design plans I have been working on to increase utility for T1 land, which will also include various T1 classes. I also intend to follow through and expand utility on T1 land into other upcoming mechanics on the platform, some of which will be revealed in a separate article in the near future and are also part of the Chapter 1 release. Ideally, all going well, we will be testing early multiplayer at some stage this quarter and as mentioned earlier this year #Hordes in Q3, #EggHunt in Q4 & maybe some early buildings on properties. In addition to these goals, we have a couple of wild card features floating around in between as well. I know I reiterate it from time to time, but the long term goal for #Earth2 has not changed. We are building a #geolocational #metaverse - a platform! We still want #Players building cities, providing more individualised experiences, advertising, trading, shopping, e-commerce, socialising and so forth. And I still have plans to link #E2V1 into #AR and support #VR, but we cannot do all of this at once. I am also looking at ways we can expand the team and setup a studio, probably in East Asia, to speed up development. The current features we're focusing on plan to expand utility for land on a wide scale & introduce various experiences inside #E2V1, providing potential benefits for land owners & #Players alike on a broader level, while at the same time allowing our team to introduce mechanics that will be used throughout the future of the platform, test limitations and work our way around challenges as they arise. Congratulations ZackeryFox🌏2️⃣👽 for your 2D concept art submission our team then took & brought to life in 3D for #Earth2🌍✌️This skin took longer given the detail & quality of the modelling but was definitely worth it! Read below for more important details & updates: The first variations of #CybercoreX will drop in about 8 hours. As mentioned in the article when we first started releasing skins, after #E2V1 officially launches we will be cutting back on #LimitedEdition skins & will predominantly focus on unlimited skins. In some cases these future unlimited skins will not be available for resale. This was always the plan as these early #LimitedEdition skins were released especially for early supporters. We will still release #LimitedEditions from time to time, but if & when we do so it will be at higher prices - which has also been mentioned numerous times in the past but I am just providing this as a reminder. I think we have 2-3 Limited Edition skins remaining before we transition into the standard skin system with unlimited skins & periodic availability - so there are not many left and these final Limited Edition drops will contain a few more rarer variations. #CybercoreX took a lot of additional work & team members strongly suggested the skin should be sold at a premium price, however I decided to keep the pricing in line with the other pre-#E2V1 Limited Edition releases. It is also important to note that as with many of the other Limited Edition skin releases with guns, the assault rifle & pistol will be sold separately. I'd also like to provide a quick update on the #E2V1 public release. The results from the initial testing group have been good so far, there are some issues we are working on fixing but nothing major. Considering it was our very first ever software release of the #Earth2 Launcher AND #E2V1, anyone with real experience releasing major software products would agree it went very smooth. Some #Players downloaded the launcher and were inside #E2V1 within 20 mins without any issues! You have major game or software developers releasing products after decades of experience & a million things go wrong .. often simple things .. our release was the dream type scenario & a real testament to our teams dedication, talent & ability! I'd like to include the option to spawn #avatars for the pre-alpha public release. The team has implemented the majority of this system with a few things remaining, which are actively being worked on at present. I just want to be clear that this NOT the avatar spawn system you have seen in demo videos to date where we just randomly spawn an avatar anywhere, that is simple & we could easily release that specific feature but it was only for demo purposes to showcase avatars can spawn anywhere in the world. To be transparent, what we are working to release now is the actual avatar spawn system intended for long term use where Players need to synthesise their #avatar from their #Mentar on their property to begin its actual life inside #E2V1. It's important to point out this involves numerous API integration, UI/UX updates and is not a simple random spawn. We anticipate there will almost surely be a number of potential bugs with this release so the plan is to first have it released to testers (WITH BUGS EXPECTED!) then stabilise & prepare for the public #E2V1 release. If you see people publishing footage of bugs online, remember we are in pre-alpha which we released to testers less than a month ago & testers are there to help us test and find issues we need to resolve. Our team is committed to fixing any major problems as they arise to improve the platform and keep moving forward. We should have avatars into the hands of testers this week. Remember, once you are inside your avatar you will not have that free camera flying ability. This makes teleportation very important for #Players who want to travel to different locations. So we will also need to start testing the teleportation system, and there is some potentially exciting news I have been keeping close to my chest which will soon be revealed. We want Turkish subtitles support in GTA VI. Please Rockstar Games Rockstar Support As Turkish gamers, we have played every game developed and published by Rockstar Games studio with great excitement and made good reviews and comments for each games. We are among the top 4 and 5 countries worldwide that gave positive comments for GTA 4 and GTA 5 on STEAM. Similarly, the same goes for Mafia, another game brand owned by Take-Two. Turkey is the third and fourth country with the most positive reviews on Steam worldwide for Mafia D.E. and Mafia 2 Classic. But unfortunately, there is no Turkish language support in any Rockstar game. We, the gamers, do not ask for much. We just want to experience the new GTA game with Turkish subtitles in our own language and play it with understanding. If GTA 6 is released with Turkish subtitle support, one of the countries where it will sell the most will be Türkiye. I guarantee that. All our content producers, all our internet provider brands, all our artists, all our sports club fan pages and all our game media channels have joined hands on this issue on social media. We all shout out the same demand; #WeWantGTA6inTurkish Even very small budget independent studios have the courage to release games with millions of words with Turkish language support, and as a result, they are satisfied and release their future games in Turkish. Because we Turks give a lot of support to every game that has our language support. You are Rockstar Games. You are the pinnacle of the gaming industry, the biggest. I am sure that the cost of this is much lower for you. However, the happiness it will create is so great that we want to experience GTA 6 in our own language as a member of your family. Please only provide us with subtitle support. We are aware of your greatness and magnificence and we have a small but very big request from you. Please let GTA 6 be in Turkish. 🚨#Earth2 update 🌏✌️ First I'd like to apologise to our community for the lateness of this message. I was still considering a traditional last timezone #Q2 release but honestly we could use a little more time. As you can see in the screen recording, we've been extremely busy the past 3 months with multiple commits per day on average from our dev team & this recording is only of commits made directly to our #E2V1 repository. It does not include #BE / Server repository commits or tasks completed for custom development from our VFX, SFX, Concept Art & Animation teams or the countless other points of progressive development. While there are some in our community who would better understand what multiple daily repo commits means, the video footage just helps others to visualise how much work goes into the development of just one facet of Earth 2, and even though we may not publish a lot of public updates, we are extremely busy & focused on development & progress behind the scenes. Sometimes you lose track of time with so many different developments in progress. Excitingly for everyone, Chapter 1 is a very big release for us & includes some very important updates that will introduce the foundations for activity & experiences inside #E2V1. There are many moving parts & many new mechanisms we've had to design, develop & implement into an incredibly large, seamless, open world just to make Chapter 1 possible. We're also building a persistent world, meaning we're not just developing for a single player local PC environment, which would be much, much easier, but instead requires a lot of API & server integration for almost every feature implemented - and that doesn't even involve the multiplayer networking element which we've also made good progress on throughout #Q2. We're not implementing API & server integration only for a persistent world, but also to mitigate against hacking. I just wanted to provide this update & apologise for the lateness of this notification. Remember, we are still in a pre-alpha stage so there are inevitably going to be bugs & issues. Seeing as though we are going to miss #Q2 anyway, we could use another week or two to fix some known bugs & make it a little smoother. It won't be longer than that & even though it's not a lot of additional time in the big picture, I still said #Q2 & I apologise that we are going to overshoot that time frame. We will aim to publish an article this weekend to provide everyone with an in depth explanation behind the early access release & I think that article will help our community understand just how much work has gone into the past 3 months by our team. I guess I could have made this post short & sweet but I wanted to provide additional context so thanks for reading through. To end on a more positive note, hands on play testing has been very eye opening to possibilities & immersion #E2V1 offers. There are so many opportunities waiting & so many directions to take .. it really is very exciting. The Visual Studio Code insiders version that just shipped and will ship in the next few days will come with an insane amount of new capabilities. A few highlights: - You can now run sub-agents in parallel. Yes, really. I even attached a video. - Major UX improvements for sub agents, especially visible in the chat window - A new search tool wrapped as a sub-agent that iteratively runs multiple search tools: semantic_search, file_search, grep_search Which connects nicely to the point above: multiple searches running in parallel, efficiently and fast - Anthropic’s Message API is now enabled by default - You can choose the model for the cloud agent (three available, all premium) - Extended thinking support when using the Claude cloud agent This is part of the broader multi-vendor cloud support under AgentsHQ I wrote about a few weeks ago - Tasks sent to the background agent (basically the CLI tool) now always run in isolation, each with its own git worktree - In a multi-repo workspace, assigning a task to a cloud agent prompts you to choose the target repo Same behavior when opening an empty workspace with no repo - Support for building an external index for files not supported by GitHub’s default indexing - UI/UX improvements for starting new sessions and switching between local / background / cloud agents - Skills are now first-class citizens, just like prompt files, with better UX indicating when a skill is loaded - Improved API for dynamic contribution of prompt files New V2 includes skills as part of the model. Hasn’t the last three years gone fast! The Pokedbots NFT collection was released three years ago on the ICP blockchain through the Entrepot marketplace. It features 10,000 robot characters that are part of the larger Delta City universe. It still holds the record for the largest one-day NFT launch sale on ICP. I want to say a big thanks to everyone who bought an NFT and been part of the project. The Pokedbots are grouped into various types, with certain ones being rarer than others. The ultimate master Pokedbots sold for 3,000 ICP, roughly $150,000 at the time, and will appear in an upcoming Pokedbots animation pilot. In 2022, we gifted all Pokedbots holders a Pet Bot NFT as a token of appreciation. These Pet Bots are also part of the Delta City universe. Additionally, we launched the Pixel Collection that year, featuring unique artworks by Jonathan Ball. In early 2023, we introduced the Gen2 Pokedbot NFTs. Users had the option to burn their Gen1 Pokedbots to receive a Gen2. The Gen2 designs are optimized for easier conversion into game characters, allowing the canister to hold multiple asset versions and source files. In 2024, we launched the alpha version of the Pokedbots online game, called Motoko Missions. Built on Unity and hosted on ICP, it leverages ICP's capabilities to select a user's game character based on the NFT they hold. In the game, players rescue Motoko ghost characters from hordes of killer robots. We are now working on the next update, which will expand the range of playable characters, introduce new weapons, improve game mechanics, and add support for additional wallets. Coming in 2025, the Pokedbots Delta City animation series pilot will debut, created in collaboration with Hollow Pixel Studios and funded partly by local government grants. The series will follow Ed and Fox on a journey of discovery after a mishap at a local energy drinks bar.
