Robots can now reconstruct 3D scenes in real time from a single RGB camera. [📍 Projects page + paper] No depth sensor. No retraining. 30 FPS. Researchers at the Imperial College London introduced KV-Tracker, a training-free method that makes heavy models like π³ and Depth Anything 3 fast enough for real-time tracking. The idea is simple. These models use global self-attention, which is powerful but computationally expensive. KV-Tracker caches the key and value pairs from selected keyframes and reuses them for new frames. That cache becomes an implicit scene representation. Result: • Up to 30 FPS • 10 to 15x speedup • Accurate 6-DoF tracking on benchmarks like TUM RGB-D and 7-Scenes • Works with monocular RGB only It also supports object-level tracking with masks and allows saving the KV-cache for later reuse. Weekend Storm Update Despite what you might have heard… I am STILL tracking the potential for a significant snow event this weekend. If it happens, the snow would arrive Sunday afternoon/evening. Model Guidance has been all over the place but I’ve been fairly consistent with my message: This looks like a Miller B Nor’Easter. Miller B storms typically have a mix line that sets up along I-78/I-80 in eastern PA and NJ. The European Model suggests that mix changes over to heavy snow as this storm strengthens. Whether or not that actually happens is pure speculation at this point. There are some non-linear processes that need to go exactly correct for this storm to produce significant snow. One more secret before the pharaoh’s curse erases my brain later today. This is my legacy for you to continue. Goodbye! Remember that year when I desperately tried to cast the ancient Egyptian “impossible ashtray” using countless tips and tricks and failed badly every single time? The problem back then? I was unable to come up with a mix that hardens without cracking using a few millimeters thickness only. I tried to pour the geopolymer mix onto a wax shape 🕯️ , a balloon 🎈, then onto the outer side of a bowl etc. But no matter how hard I tried, my “impossible ashtray” fell apart into coin sized pieces because of cracking. I have wasted gazillions of hours, and enormous amounts of metakaolin and waterglass just to learn how NOT to cast this object. But the impossible ashtray must be a casting, no matter what. Right? I admired ancient Chinese porcelain’s precision for a long time but it took me more than a year to connect the two. This is how slow my brain 🧠 is. Because who cares? There was certainly no connection between ancient China and Egypt, right? Except… History Investigation by Vee showed us that ancient Chinese people used the very same tools for jade works than Egyptians for… khm 🫣 Is that a connection or a coincidence? God knows. But even if it’s a coincidence, it was worth checking whether porcelain making techniques could have been anything to do with geopolymers. What makes porcelain different from everything else is that they pour the porcelain mix INSIDE a hard mold (made from gypsum), let it dry for 2-4 minutes and then pour the rest of the mixture out of the mold. So they are creating a few mm thin layer INSIDE, on the inner wall of the mold. And then, as the porcelain mix is shrinking (lightbulb moment!💡) while drying, it will release the mold and you end up with a precision mug or other object ready to go into the oven. Now have a good look at my very first, not cracked, beautiful geopolymer “precision vase” created using the porcelain method in a plastic container. Yes, it is red. I swear I’ll redo it with white metakaolin. Yes, it’s not an ashtray. Yes, it inherited its precision from a 21st century object. Yes, yes, yes. But! It’s a few millimeter thick cast stone in a shape of a bowl! A STONE!!!!! 🪨🪨🪨🪨 How cool is that? Do you think it’s still impossible to create the “impossible ashtray” via casting? Fun fact: the impossible ashtray is “carved” from “anortoistic gneiss” officially, which is a fancy made up word for WE DON’T KNOW.

This is why I fell in love with the fans of Red Star Belgrade (Delije). I have never seen or played in a better atmosphere than this one especially when we play at the Maracana stadium. With Delije away games feels like home games and that pressure to always get the first goal early to trigger the fans can be good or bad sometimes if you don't score early. I love every song I love how both old and young people show their love and support for the team. Red Star is like the Real Madrid of the Balkan region with a lot of history and great traditions. Playing in front of this amazing Fans and how they light up the stadium with their enthusiasm is something special. Zvezda Volime te 🔴⚪️

Hello Hugh Thomas , let’s do it one by one, sample by sample, stone by stone. Whenever an artificial stone recipe of mine reaches a certain stage that’s the results are comparable to the natural version I’ll send a cast sample to you (with its mold) to analyze. The first one could be this perfectly chiseled fake limestone cube. As you can see you can’t fit a razor blade between the stone and the cheap silicone mold from Temu. This proves my micro chiseling skills. The recipe is public, you don’t even need my cube, you could create your own - but you won’t. So I’ll send this cute cube to you. The “secret” recipe is: I started from wood ash lye, also called potash, or K2CO3, by slowly dripping water through hard wood ash. Hard wood ash from your fireplace, yeah. Then I added slaked lime, and the chemical reaction produced fine, molecular level CaCO3 particles, fine limestone floating in the liquid. FYI: the secret chemical reaction is, and was in the ancient times as well: K2CO3 + Ca(OH)2 = CaCO3 + 2KOH Yummy! Next step: I let the limestone particles settle, and poured the KOH, potassium hydroxide solution above (that also formed in the liquid, see above) into the kitchen sink as it is a very good drain cleaner indeed. I added water and poured it into the sink several times, trying to clean the slurry from the KOH. So yes, the cube is from almost pure limestone, CaCO3 - with some residual KOH contamination. The KOH contamination can be reduced infinitely, I just stopped after 4 rounds. (Pro tip: put the slurry into a filter bag and put the bag into a mountain creek for an hour.) The next step is filtering and pressing the remaining liquid from the slurry. Because it’s a wet mess at this point. Pressure is a key factor to success! At least one thing is accurate from the universal canon: no pressure-no stone. How do I know? By trying and failing a few (dozen) times. So I poured the white limestone slurry into a sock 🧦 and pressed and squeezed it by hand - and that was JUST enough pressure for the magic to happen 😮 It looks like nature/god is on our side, everything is working as it was designed this way. Then I put the almost dry limestone paste into this Temu mold. Fun fact: it still contains a lot of water which will eventually be pressed out as the crystallization progresses, so we’ll need to get rid of that water through a hole, a nub. But there is no hole 🕳️ on this Temu mold so I poured the excess liquid from the top a few times. Hardening time=drying time=crystallization time : 1 week. The important lesson I learned from this experience is as follows: I tried to understand why this sludge turned into hard stone, because, as we were told, IT IS IMPOSSIBLE, and my understanding is this: wood ash lye does two different magics in parallel for this to happen: 1. It magically contains the right kind of contamination to facilitate calcite crystal formation and 2. The incredibly high pH (remember, 2 molecules of KOH are produced from 1 molecule of K2CO3!) in the liquid boost the calcite formation even more. ———- My only request from you and your colleagues concerning this analysis is full, 100000% transparency. And be honest. I know something you clearly don’t: you have lost this battle already. We need the data fast, not in 4 years or something. Transparency means sharing whatever you find here on X, without scientific drama and pullbacks. We don’t need a 947 pages scientific paper. We need the results, the data only. BTW: I already know what you will find: a “special type of natural limestone” with some minimal potassium contamination🤣🤣🤣 Now feel free to DM me, let this scientific analysis happen! NASA ARTEMIS II MISSION UPDATE The crew and Orion are approximately 94,117km to the Moon, they're also just over 350,000km away from Earth. They're also travelling at a speed of approximately 2,523km/h, this will start to increase as the lunar sphere of influence takes a hold of the crew and Orion later today. Approximately 41.8% of the mission has been completed. Currently the crew is into the Orion Crew Survival System Suit Developmental Flight Objective (OCSS DFTO) operations, which is essentially a simulated emergency onboard the spacecraft and involves the OCSS suits being donned along with the crews strapping themselves into their seats and the cabin pressure being dropped to 10.2 PSI. This of course is one of many extremely important objectives that is being performed during the duration of this test flight around the Moon. OTC (Outbound Trajectory Correction) burn #3 is also still planned for later today, this is very much subject to change though if NASA decides to skip this burn also. We will be sure to keep you updated if this changes. And yes, I can in fact confirm the toilet is still working! I spent the weekend at the San Antonio Riverwalk for the first time since I proposed to my wife, almost 8 years ago. Here’s the results 👇 What I saw was a grotesque, culturally homogeneous invasion of streetshitters. I could probably count with one hand the amount of Americans, and two were homeless sleeping on a stone bench. I felt unrepresented in my own home state. There is no longer the “replacement theory”, it’s moved to a full on “replacement mission” Indians were haggling with the boat drivers like they control the prices. Indians leaving $0 tip on a $150 family dinner after sending the food back because it had beef sauce. Turbans stuck out of the riverboat ferries and the stone bridges like whack-a-mole, and I wish they rented mallets. At one point there was somebody fishing under Selena’s bridge. We spent <2 hours walking and just left, nothing was enjoyable. There wasn’t even any cultural Mexicans in their Huipils, no shawls, no sombreros. Just turbans and Sarees, and red dots eye level as far as I could stomach to look. The big cities fall first in wartime, as the plague ravages through the smaller communities next who are usually oblivious to outside events. I was so shocked and appalled I didn’t even think to take a video for myself, so this is just a random TikTok I found but that also reinforces the narrative that it wasn’t a “one time thing” These roaches are everywhere and they’re not fucking leaving fast enough.

Why did they have a loophole like this in the first place? We should have had laws like this years ago to finally stop grave site robbers and vandalism. An Ohio bill seeks to create a felony offense for taking items or decorations from a gravesite This woman was so devastated by the cruelty of others I am hurt, angry, and heartbroken. Today, I went to my son’s gravesite at Green Hill Memorial Gardens Cemetery, and what I found brought me to tears. Everything I put out there is gone. Every flower, every decoration, every piece of love I placed to honor his memory... all of it is missing. To make things worse, the metal vase that’s built into the headstone has been broken off. How could this even happen? It’s all metal and connected to the stone. There is no way this could come apart on its own. On top of that, his gravestone is sinking into the ground on the front side. After all the money, time, and care I’ve invested to make sure his resting place was beautiful and respected, this is unacceptable. I have tried calling, leaving message after message, and I will keep calling until I reach someone who can explain what happened. Families should not have to endure this kind of heartbreak and disrespect. This isn’t just about missing items… It’s about respect. Respect for my son’s memory. Respect for grieving families. Well… this is awkward. I’ve done a complete 360. I originally believed the basalt floor tool marks east of Khufu’s pyramid were ancient saw cuts and possibly evidence of lost technology. Then a 180. A few years ago, I made a video arguing they were modern. George Reisner’s Harvard expedition worked extensively in this area, a modern road once crossed over these stones, and I’d heard accounts from locals describing how people used modern tools to remove stone for the forgery trade. Given all that, it seemed like a reasonable conclusion at the time. After taking a much closer look today, however, I’ve changed my mind. I’m now convinced these cuts are ancient.💯 That doesn’t mean the technique was impossible for the ancient Egyptians. Clearly, it wasn’t. But aspects of how they achieved these cuts may still be lost to us. So the “modern cuts” debunking theory can now be placed quietly in the bin. Chalk one up for the alternative historians and YouTubers who argued these cuts were ancient. They were right after all, and I stand corrected. Funny old thing, evidence. It has an inconvenient habit of changing minds.
