Yes it haunts me that the end frame of this otherwise successful video demo is a failed dictionary lookup

Amazing, I'm a react native developer, too. Let me know if you need extra hand.

That's a nice way to learn new languages. Good job.

Since you do both, NativeScript and React Native — how do you feel about switching between them?

I want the best of both. I think React Native / Expo offers a really solid developer experience, but it all falls apart when it comes to native API access. I wanna just write native code inline via JS, like I demonstrated in my React Native EU 2022 talk.

such a cool idea! i’ve always wanted something like this for studying Spanish

In theory, Amazon WhisperSync should have you covered for Spanish. I just had to go to all this effort myself because they don’t support Japanese (or the Japan region) 🥹

Fantastic for language learning. Nice job!

Do you convert the audio to text?

Wow, that conversation we shared in the pub that time sure escalated xD I have got to try this when it's ready.

Oh yeah, you transformed my Japanese learning! I got up to a pace of reading a novel a week for several months (before I ran out of audio books for series I liked). They’re just releasing Spice and Wolf on audiobook now, though, so starting to listen to those.
