Jordan Peterson’s method for remembering everything you read: Stop highlighting. Stop taking notes while reading. Read a section → close the book → write down what you remember in your own words. Reformulate it. Connect it. Criticize it. That’s how information actually becomes part of you. What’s your take, do you learn and retain more by actively recalling and rewriting, or by highlighting and passive note-taking?

Every few years a new silly speed-reading hack becomes popular, here's the latest one: It's called Quantum Speed-Reading (QSR). How does it work? The faster you flip through a book, the faster you 'read' it. Using QSR, kids can 'read' 100,000 words in 5 minutes. Yumiko Tobitani, the creator of QSR, presented no scientific evidence for her method. Instead, she says that "when a book is flipped through at high speed the words are transformed into images and come out as pictures," and that flipping through a book helps you pick up "the thought vibrations emanating from it." QSR training centers are popping up across China and Japan and charging students $860 to teach them this new reading method.

Anyone trying to tell you he didn’t work for Israel who hasn’t read One Nation Under Blackmail is either intentionally spinning a narrative or entirely unserious. I have yet to meet anyone who’s read it and disputes the claims Whitney Webb makes. But really, this video is meant as a reminder- no amount of scrolling X will ever substitute for reading a book. Gill: Do you believe that America is addicted to white supremacy? Maher: I believe that I tweeted that. I believe much of my thinking has evolved over the last half-decade. Gill: Do you believe that America believes in black plunder and white democracy? Maher: I don't believe that, sir. My advice to people: Shut the social media off. Not forever — just give yourself a break. An hour is fine. Two hours, okay. Eight hours is too much and you know it. -Read a book. -Watch a YouTube lecture. -Do something that actually fills you up. And here's the other thing, doubting yourself and feeling pressure is normal. Take a breath. It doesn't mean something is wrong with you. But you have to manifest and get yourself into the right mindset. Read about positive actualization. Think big. Do it consistently and over time things start to shift in ways that surprise you. The first person you have to believe in is yourself and when you start projecting that confidence it becomes habitual. That's when everything changes.
