Just reading the book Wasteland. Its incredible to understand the history of recycling, and why it’s pretty much useless in the face of growing demand / production of plastics

It really shocked me when I realised what a total myth plastic recycling is. If an effective global plastics treaty were in place, it could make plastic pollution more viable, but still wouldn't address toxins absorbed by plastic containers from the chemicals stores in them.

@curiocat13 It's in our best interests, it really is. I read Indian researchers found micro plastics in frogs which is pretty major; they eat malaria-carrying mosquitoes. Other research found micro plastics in mens tackle 😲 leading to fears of sperm decline (that's future humans)

🙌Important to get this out - the public should be hammering on the doors of government over this. The recycling myth for plastics needs debunking fast. Only caps on production will ensure a less toxic future

Nobody needs plastic grass. Fake turf lasts 8 to 10 years as a sports field with more rubber crumb or sand as infill. Chemicals including PFAS from plastic and rubber pollute and lasts for ever.
