It is time govt. must also back up these efforts with source segregation efforts. The bottlers and bottle manufacturers must be held responsible. Germany has had pfand - bottle recycle system - in practise for several years now. Hoping you and other officials really take this up to the decision makers and bring out proactive change, even though these reactive measures are important too.

@DattaChaudhuri @mkstalin The only problem with the plastics is that they remain on the surface….water shall continue to flow from under… The better use of plastics shall be in road works as an impermeable layer..

@mkstalin Ocean cleanup is an amazing NGO who are doing a good job for quite some time in protecting the oceans from plastic pollution...it would be amazing if TN govt can partnered with ocean cleanup and try to clean up all the important rivers in tamilnadu..
