Cursor can now write detailed plans before starting complex tasks. This allows agents to run for significantly longer.

Plans are generated as Markdown and can be edited inline or stored in code. Enter plan mode with Shift+Tab in the agent input.

Just need option to launch agent per task in plan for those larger plans. Project > plans > todos

This is a great step forward! For the next iteration, let users click buttons to select the suggested options.

The plan and agents turned out to be an awesome update for me. I don’t have to prepare 10 markdown files with plans by myself anymore.

I was just presenting this to my team this afternoon. Huge workflow upgrade for me today!

I've been doing this manually Prompting the cursor to ask me questions and give me suggestions, based on this it gives me recommendations which option to implement

people calling out that other coding agents do this, as if discovering that better requirements lead to better outcomes. every agent will benefit from more task context. all task context is best served as a to do list. will continue to be true until “build a billion dollar company, make no mistakes” is here.

Is there a mandatory «reflect» step to reflect on what it has implemented and review what’s still left ? When I used markdown files as plans just like this, I feel like it often gets lost and doesn’t come back to the plan. Maybe an agent watching the agent ?

a bit funny, i tried plan mode its kind of how ive always been doing things iterate on md file for a while till im happy then go on and let it write the code
