Auto-review mode is now available in Cursor. It allows agents to run tool calls with fewer approval prompts and safer execution.

We've been working on very long-running coding agents. In a recent week-long run, our system peaked at over 1,000 commits per hour across hundreds of agents. We're sharing our findings and an early research preview inside Cursor.

Cursor now uses subagents to complete parts of a task in parallel. Subagents lead to faster overall execution and better context usage. They also let agents work on longer-running tasks. Also new: Cursor can generate images, ask clarifying questions, and more.

Extend Cursor with plugins, now available in our marketplace.

Agent Skills are now available in Cursor. Skills let agents discover and run specialized prompts and code.

/btw allows you to ask a quick side question without derailing the agent's current run.

Semantic search improves our agent's accuracy across all frontier models, especially in large codebases where grep alone falls short. Learn more about our results and how we trained an embedding model for retrieving code.

We recently shipped quality-of-life improvements to the Cursor CLI to make working with agents in the terminal more delightful. Use /debug to find root causes and fix tricky bugs that are hard to reproduce or understand.

Sonnet-3.7 is available in Cursor! We've been very impressed by its coding ability, especially on real-world agentic tasks. It appears to be the new state of the art.

OpenAI’s new o1 models are available in Cursor! We’ve found o1 to be excellent at well-specified, reasoning-intense problems. We still recommend sonnet/4o for most tasks. We’re initially rolling out the models with usage-based pricing but will iterate as rate limits increase.

We’re introducing the Cursor SDK so you can build agents with the same runtime, harness, and models that power Cursor. Run agents from CI/CD pipelines, create automations for end-to-end workflows, or embed agents directly inside your products.

With the Cursor SDK, you can build your own agents with Composer 2.5. It's now available in Python and TypeScript. This long weekend, Composer usage is 90% off in the SDK. We're excited to see what you build!
