This woman wasn’t happy with her purchase, so she went back to Target to return it, she didn’t have the receipt but she figured they can look it up because she had the card she used to pay. The employee that handled her return looked like she walked in from the street, oversized sweats with ear buds in and smacking him loudly. The employee claimed she couldn’t find it and proceeded to call for security to remove the customer and also called the police to remove her. The woman started having a panic attack and the employee’s response was “just leave!” I think we need a better solution for returns that’s clean cut and aware to all, how would you feel if you were treated like this, would you just accept you can’t return without a receipt and leave?

When she called for the manager, she was told the employee did not mean anything by it. Our queens should never have to explain why that is unacceptable. We are glad the employee was terminated but dismissing her concerns in that moment was wrong. Sensitivity training is a start but our communities deserve better than an apology after the fact.
