All you had to do was offer to let him keep the change. The reasoning behind him not giving you the sandwich was that he was unable to provide you change, which is understandable. But if you really wanted the sandwich, you should have given him that option.

I’d probably be upset too but there’s no point laying into to the worker like that. No amount of complaining is going to change the situation…

Video was carefully edited when he said, I didn't know you where going to pay cash. The cashier probably said, I told you our systems where down and we could only accept credit card payments and you agreed that was fine. The fact that the guy video taping said he's been waiting years for this moment and wants to savor it tells you all you need to know about what an assh*le he is.
