This customer signed a contract for some concrete work. He’s concerned because a friend told him that the job the contractor did could not be good because they got it done so quickly and is now refusing to pay the full amount, only $600 now and will pay the rest once the concrete cures and he sees it’s ok. I see this from both sides however I think he should pay the amount he agreed on. Most contractors warranty their work. If anything was to happen afterwords then I would expect them to come fix it. I wouldn’t without someone’s livelihood because of that. I understand that with any job there is a risk involved. Most of the time the work is done to my liking and there is no issues. On those rare occasions that things happen then I must trust that the contractor will do the right thing based on the contract we both signed. This principle applies to everything we encounter in life from cars to appliances we buy. I think the warranty is what protects us from faulty or defective services or products. I wouldn’t be surprised if the contractor files a lien on his home, I would expect that to happen. The homeowner should just do the right thing and fulfill his end of the bargain by paying for what he agreed upon.

I have to wonder what’s the point of even doing work like this anymore? No one appreciates hard work and labor, and no one is willing to pay people what they’re worth anymore. This woman is going to have a giant mess on her hands now because he’s taking back all of his materials as he should, and she’s only going to have to pay somebody else to fix it. This makes absolutely zero sense to me.. I think the work looks beautiful. But honestly, what is the point of having a service business anymore??

In this video he’s making fun of them for leaving the deck full of gaps, saw marks, and practically unfinished. The good part about this is, this contractor knows his stuff and is really good. But bad part is the customer has to pay more money for a job that wasn’t done right, would you have hired somebody else or would you have made the redo it think you were happy with it?

When it was time to pay, he stated he won’t pay the full amount because the service did not include edging, which he never even told them he wanted them to do. I feel the customer is scamming the landscapers at this point, his argument isn’t valid, the landscapers are not mind readers. They would have no idea that he wanted this service done as well. Could they have explained it better, maybe but how would they know he wanted it especially if they operate differently than what he was expecting. I see opportunities for both parties involved. I think the customer should have been clear from the start what his expectation was and what he wanted. On the other hand I feel the contractors should have explained it better as well especially if the edging service is an additional price.
