This customer signed a contract for some concrete work. He’s concerned because a friend told him that the job the contractor did could not be good because they got it done so quickly and is now refusing to pay the full amount, only $600 now and will pay the rest once the concrete cures and he sees it’s ok. I see this from both sides however I think he should pay the amount he agreed on. Most contractors warranty their work. If anything was to happen afterwords then I would expect them to come fix it. I wouldn’t without someone’s livelihood because of that. I understand that with any job there is a risk involved. Most of the time the work is done to my liking and there is no issues. On those rare occasions that things happen then I must trust that the contractor will do the right thing based on the contract we both signed. This principle applies to everything we encounter in life from cars to appliances we buy. I think the warranty is what protects us from faulty or defective services or products. I wouldn’t be surprised if the contractor files a lien on his home, I would expect that to happen. The homeowner should just do the right thing and fulfill his end of the bargain by paying for what he agreed upon.

Worse than a DIY homeowner that doesn’t know what they’re doing. FYI, this company who installed it is already in under investigation from the state DOPL…. It’s really too bad that there are bad businesses out there that feel OK doing this to people. The homeowner hired us to fix all the mistakes. Should have hired us in the first place.
