Driver couldn't see the approaching cyclist because it's a sunny day. Or it wasn't a sunny day. Or because the cyclist was wearing black. Or the cyclist was going too fast. In any case, some other cyclist somewhere rode through a red light, uninsured, without stopping. I saw it.

"you should have anticipated that a car would do that" 😒 drivers will find a way to blame cyclists anyway, even with those kind of video

Terrible driving, however I would add that the two lane cycleway isn’t typical outside of cities & I can see how this could happen with a driver looking left / right for usual traffic direction. No way is this an excuse by the way, just trying to understand how this driver didn’t spot the cyclist.

If only the cyclist had been wearing a helmet....

Too few people check both directions when turning left out of a junction. This is likely what happened here. Poor driving.

That’s why bi-directional tracks are advised against.

Bikenonce is upset because people are dissagreeing with him. Bikenoce has gone home crying.

terrible driving, but damn those double give way lines are confusing, this must happen constantly

Poor design - that junction should be a raised ramp section to slow vehicles. There should also be a colour contrast to denote the ramp feature.

Why don’t SUV drivers look for cyclists? Why don’t elephants look for ants?
