Yankees need to start being honest with themselves on so many things. They passed on every stud shortstop FA and went with a stop-gap shortstop in a championship window because they had multiple studs in the pipeline. Now goalposts have moved from "he's gonna crush it offensively this year" to "we don't even need him to be above league average" My gripe isn't with Volpe it's with how they've handled this stuff. They're not doing Volpe any favors. They said he got run down last year towards the end of the season. Well here we are and he's currently slashing .118/.182/.157/.339 in his last 13 games. A couple days of rest and reset may help. They just skipped Stromans a start for the same reason. I don't get it.

Carved out an every day role as a Freshman and collected 18 XBH with 43 RBIs, but had a breakout summer on the Cape to the tune of a .327/.426/.376 slash line with 13 RBIs in 29 games. Carried that momentum over into last season where he hit .335/.402/.471 with 14 2B, 5 HRs, 54 RBIs and 28 SB. Earned an invitation to Team USA, but had a strong 15-game stint on the Cape and hit .321/.361/.536 with 6 2B, 2 HRs and 9 RBIs. Strong, athletic build at 5'11" and 193-lbs with plenty of natural strength. Stands fairly tall in the box with his knees slightly bent and a tight base with a slightly open front side. Prior to departing for Cary, Schubart had a productive 9-game stint on the Cape in which he hit .300/.476/.667 with 2 2B and 3 HRs. Also showed well for Team USA. Schubart has a pro body at 6'5" and 223-lbs with strength throughout. Particular length in his lower-half. Meet Rick Cutler: -Volunteered…for 9/10. -Zero ties to the Security “Team” prior to 9/10. -Zero record of how he knew Charlie, at all. -Has Special OPS training. -Smiled as Charlie was hit… AND falling OUT of the chair…right in front of his face, in fact, Cutler was smiling his entire ASS OFF the WHOLE TIME…even OVER Charlie’s body! -At the (EXACT) same time that Dan Flood, gave the final arm signal, Cutler did the “arm jerk” and at -that exact second, Charlie was hit. -Cutler is a complete ghost on social media. -He is one of the men seen, rapidly passing objects “as priority number ONE”…NOT Charlie…-objects. -Rick Cutler, has never been seen at a TPUSA event -since 9/10. -The second the hit occurred, a woman in a brown shirt, and red hat, standing directly to his left, turned and looked DIRECTLY at HIM, with a horrified & shocked look on her face, she then looked at Charlie, saw him going down, and then she ran in the opposite direction of Rick. -Rick was wearing a strange black band on his fist/wrist on 9/10. Possible silent communication device for the “team.” -LED…ALL OF THE MEN, TO THE SUV, WHO WERE CARRYING -CHARLIE… -Has never been seen since 9/10. No one knows where he is….
