This video from the Tanjore incident is so disturbing for me. A boy questioned the undue activity of VCK party people blocking the road, was brutally attacked by the Tamil Nadu Police! What are you trying to say, CM sir TVK Vijay? Your alliance partner can commit any atrocity, and if the public questions it, they will be attacked by your police? Is this the rule of law in Tamil Nadu? If you book an FIR against that boy, you should also book an FIR against the SSI of the Police Department who attacked him.

This is horrifying. He was the only earning member of the family. His other brother is physically disabled. Who will feed the family now? Dalit boys are being forcibly branded as criminals in Jaunpur. The Sarpataha police are accused of picking up a Dalit youth from his house at 3 a.m. on 16 February on charges of theft. He was allegedly beaten in the police station for four days. On 19 February, he was produced in court and sent to jail. He died on 20 February. Are they police or predators? The entire police station and jail officials should be suspended, and an FIR should be invoked against them. This is unacceptable. Dalits are not meant to be killed at will. The family is demanding justice.

The lady in blue Churidhar is my good friend Sathiya Priya ,The revenue inspector of Arur , Dharmapuri. A #Dalit officer. Sathiya has been doing some amazing work in the revenue department over the years and what she has done today is not less of a miracle for the 25 Dalit families living in a Dalit colony in the village Odasalpatti near Achalvadi ,Arur. The only pathway from the Dalit colony to the main village was blocked by Kongu Vella Gounders (BC) 40 years ago with rocks and boulders . From medical access to healthcare access ,to access to educational institutes the 25 families belonging to the Kuravan community, lived a life of hell because of the blockage of the passage. That was the only pathway to the crematorium, where even the dead ones were taken on a bike to be buried. The suffering and distress of the dalit community was unexplainable and cruel . No government acted on it. 2 years back the villagers filed a case against it at the Madras high court and even got ruling in favor of them but the dominant caste Gounders did not obey the court orders. Today Sathiya along with police went ahead and demolished the wall ,the boulders which were a hindrance to free passage of Dalits to a common road . She also made sure that the police arrest three dominant caste women who were against it . This is a new lease of life for the 25 dalit families among the many more who have been subject to such cruelty in #Tamilnadu. I wish more bureaucrats behave like Sathiya and work towards achieving the civil rights of the marginalized. Unfortunately, there aren't many officers like her. But today Sathiya Priya proves that there are people like her who can put an end to decades of suffering, the Dalit families go through. It is important that Dalit women take inspiration from her and more such officers ,to enter bureaucracy ,to change the systematic oppression, the marginalized face . Jai bhim.

‼️A kid just jumped off / fell from the 13th floor — Hiyaa H5 building. Maldives Police was busy creating a crime scene. Ambulance came after 15 mins. They didn’t even check the kid’s airway, breathing & circulation. This is basic 1st aid every police officer should know. A blocked airway could cause suffocation. If they’re not breathing then it could even mean a punctured lung. In this case CPR is necessary. It can save the child’s life. But our police didn’t do any of that.

Unwavering solidarity with Ambedkarite Student Leader Sabari Girija Rajan Ms. Sabari Girija Rajan, the President of ASA (Ambedkarite Students Association) at the University of Hyderabad (UoH), along with her family, is currently being subjected to harassment and targeted by a criminal gang driven by casteist motives in Enadimangalam - Pathanamthitta District, Kerala. These individuals are attempting to forcibly displace them from their land through threats and intimidation. They have also illegally cut and stolen valuable trees from her property. Additionally, the President and Secretary of Enadimangalam Grama Panchayat (both affiliated with CPIM) are also implicated in these caste-based criminal activities. In February of the same year, the ASA-SFI alliance achieved a significant victory against the hate politics of ABVP and assumed power at UoH. This triumph holds historical significance as it occurred under the auspices of ASA, the same organization that tragically witnessed the suicide of Rohit Vemula, a victim of caste-based atrocities. Ms. Sabari played a pivotal role in forming a broad coalition here that greatly contributed to this electoral success. Even though these upper caste CPIM leaders of Kerala will never consider the Dalit community as their allies, and these upper castes cannot even accept Dalits living near their abode. That is the reason behind the violence Sabari and her family are facing. This raises concerns about the magnitude of atrocities that ordinary Dalits encounter on a daily basis in Kerala. Sabari's family has already filed a complaint with the area DySP, but the police have not taken any action yet. Past experiences have shown that Kerala Police often fail to effectively address cases of atrocities against SC/ST communities and tend to protect the accused instead. Consequently, Kerala has a high incidence of violence against Dalit and Adivasi communities. Yesterday, Sabari's younger sister and brother held a press conference to address the ongoing harassment their family is enduring, demanding action and seeking justice for their cause. I urge State Police Chief to remain vigilant in this situation and take prompt and exemplary action against these casteist criminals to ensure justice for Ms. Sabari and her family. Thanks to the NBC Entertainment Today Show and Savannah Guthrie for their in-depth look at the NEJM 2018-19 Andes Virus study and for interviewing me on my thoughts here. Yes, this study did show that an infectious case of #AndesVirus can transmit to 5-10 additional people in crowded social settings. Yes, it is one study but it is also a clear counter-example to the "no spread from casual contact" narrative. We should be open about what is possible even if it doesn't happen all the time or with every case. Disease transmission has many factors involved, including how much virus the person is shedding at the time. #Hantavirus

Only one cameraperson’s hand rises on the last question. Not surprising at all. A 2019 Oxfam report shows: 1) Of the 121 newsroom leadership positions – editor-in-chief, managing editor, executive editor, bureau chief, input/output editor – across the newspapers, TV news channels, news websites, and magazines under study, 106 are occupied by upper castes, five by other backward classes and six by people from minority communities. The case of four individuals could not be identified. 2) Three out of every four anchors (among a total of 40 anchors in Hindi channels and 47 in English channels) are upper caste. Not one is Dalit, Adivasi, or OBC. My counter Qs: will a caste census really ensure greater newsroom diversity? Or isn’t what we really need is an equal opportunities project?

Dalits are not safe in West Bengal. Look how Mamata Police is breaking the Law and beating up Members of the Scheduled Caste Community, that too at the behest of TMC Party. Officer in Charge of Bhupatinagar Police Station; Gopal Pathak vandalised the homes of BJP West Bengal Karyakartas; Anup Debnath & Mangal Debnath. Both belong to the SC Community. They were not present at their homes in Jukhia Village of Bhagawanpur-II Block when Police arrived. Disappointed with their absence, whom the Police wanted to arrest on false charges, made them really angry. The outburst of the Police Personnel is disgusting to say the least. They not just vandalised their home including throwing cooked food to the ground, the Police even beat up the ladies of the house. Police brutality towards SC Community members in WB is an unfortunate reality. I would like to urge Shri Arun Halder; Hon’ble Vice Chairman; National Commission for Scheduled Castes to take cognizance of this offence and file a FIR against the OC of Bhupatinagar Police Station under the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989. The Prosecutor presented more cases where Sergeant Nkosi defeated the ends of justice, just to prove that the State has a strong case against him. For example he took the docket of car hijacking from 2014, it had finger prints he was supposed to send to the lab within 3 days, he never did. The case was closed in the system in 2018. It was found in his backyard wendyhouse now in 2026!!! You can imagine how many other cases were sabotaged like this throughout the country by other police officers. The Prosecutor presented more cases where Sergeant Nkosi defeated the ends of justice, just to prove that the State has a strong case against him. For example he took the docket of car hijacking from 2014, it had finger prints he was supposed to send to the lab within 3 days, he never did. The case was closed in the system in 2018. It was found in his backyard wendyhouse now in 2026!!! You can imagine how many other cases were sabotaged like this throughout the country by other police officers. A wedding in #Saharanpur turned chaotic when a young woman arrived claiming to be the groom’s girlfriend. She said she came to stop the marriage. The situation escalated, and wedding guests caught her and beat her badly, even tearing her clothes. The woman told them, “My lover has ruined my life, and now he is getting married. I will not let him be with anyone else.” Police reached the spot after receiving information and managed to stop the wedding. The victim has filed a case against the accused groom at Rampur Maniharan police station. SP City Vyom Bindal said - "A case has been registered based on the woman's complaint. The matter is being investigated. The wedding has been stopped." Sunil's wedding procession had arrived on Monday from Titron police station area to Khatkaheri village in Rampur Maniharan. At 6 PM, his alleged girlfriend Poonam (32) came to know that Sunil was getting married. She arrived at the wedding procession with another woman, Sonu Sharma. Poonam created a ruckus in the wedding pavilion. She told the truth to the bride and her family. During this, there was a lot of high-voltage drama in the pavilion. For some time, there was a heated argument between both sides, which caused chaos among the wedding guests and family members. Girlfriend Poonam alleges that the groom Sunil and 4050 people present in the baraat collectively attacked her. They tore her clothes. They also beat her nude. She sustained serious injuries. The attackers' intention was to kill her. During this, when Sonu Sharma arrived to save Poonam, she was also assaulted. In the attack on Sonu Sharma, 16 thousand rupees were looted from her pocket and her mobile phone was also snatched. As soon as the information was received, the police reached the spot and the entire matter was taken to the police station. For now, the wedding has been stopped. Both parties were called to the police station. A case has been registered based on the victim's complaint. Meanwhile, Poonam and Sonu Sharma underwent medical examination. The girlfriend said - I have had a long-standing love affair with the groom. There was a dispute in between. Regarding this, a case has already been registered against Sunil at Gangoh police station, which is currently pending in court. Despite this, he was getting married. He ruined my life. Now he is getting married himself. I will not let this wedding happen.

WHAT IF THE DEAD BODY POLLUTES US!!! Well! Because we live in Medieval times, even a dead body is a threat to our purity! This incident is from Kundalapalli village, P Gannavaram Mandal, Kona Seema District, Andhra Pradesh. Four days ago, Srinivasa Rao from SC-Colony died. The village has only one road and when the family wanted to take the dead body, the villagers refused. They simply didn’t want a dalit man’s dead body being taken in a procession from their streets. Finally, Srinivasa Rao’s family had to take him through the farms. Of course they filed an atrocities case on 10 members of the upper castes who denied even the basic right to use a road!! And there are people in today’s social media who simply pass statements like- caste is an imaginary construct & why does this country need reservation! 75 years of Independence, constitution and struggle for equality and this is the harsh, cruel & ruthless reality of this country!

Almost 25-30 #Dalit families residing at Malligacheri, Villivakkam #Chennai have been forced to be evicted by the DMK government . The people have been residing here over 6 generations for almost a century and they have been asked to vacate according to a case filed by a Marwari business man who has bought a nearby property. The people are daily wage labourers in extreme poverty and they have not been given any replacement house to shift and are forced to vacate . This morning the officials came with JCB to demolish the shops and houses in the vicinity. And due to the protest by the residents and DYFI members they have given a grace period of 15 days . It is so sad that Indigenous Dalits don't have a place of their own in this city and residents allegedly say the North Indian guy wants them out of his sight due to Untouchability. How can the DMK even do this when the election code of conduct is in place ? Who will stop this CMOTamilNadu ??? Why are you so unkind to the poor Dalits ?
