Smith is a political amateur. Smith is deluding herself if she thinks she can achieve any meaningful progress in any of the 9 constitutional amendments listed on the referendum questions without any leverage the separation referendum can bring. The majority of Albertans are in favor of the 8 out of the 9, and even the only issue the majority are not in favor is very close. By abandoning the leverage, Smith might as well publicly confess that she has no intention of doing anything meaningful about the constitutional amendments Albertans are demanding. Of course, Smith loves being seen to be doing something without actually achieving anything material. Is anybody fooled?
