I love President Trump but I’m not with him on the data centers. The opposition to data centers seems real and organic. The need to shove data centers down the throats of communities who don’t want them seems to be manufactured.

And good policy is: not a single shovel should go in the ground, and not a single slab of concrete should be laid for a data center that drains the surrounding community. The only data centers that should be built are the ones that power the community. Then tell the story. Many data centers, especially in red states are doing just that--often in towns that have been abandoned by politicians for decades. That means: Data center companies, not Michigan families, pay for their own energy and grid upgrades – so rates don't go up. Data centers can't harm our water, air, or environment. Data centers pay their fair share in taxes to fund our schools, roads, and communities. Data centers are built with local union labor.

We have a real problem with these so called "experimental data centers" They will drive up your electric bills, jeopardize our water supply, and are so loud you will hear them 24/7. I want to be clear. I am not going to regulate data centers, I am not going to reform data centers; as Florida Governor, I will reject and remove every data center in our state.
