American beef is basically metabolic syndrome on a plate. Dr. Robert Lustig compared Italian beef, Argentinian beef, and USA corn-fed beef. The American version is loaded with fat. Argentinians eat twice as much beef but have lower heart disease rates, because their cows graze on grass. American cows are force-fed corn and go from birth to slaughter in just 6 weeks (used to take 18 months). Lustig says those cows develop metabolic syndrome before slaughter… and so do people who eat them. Now, producers can set their own standards. To qualify for grass fed labeling now, the producer can legally label any ruminant meat that ate grass until the last 6 months before processing. That last 6 months can devastate not only the nutritional value of the beef, but also exposes the consumer to chemicals & toxins from contaminants in feed & injections. Cows are fed grains to quickly fatten them up, but these aren’t “healthy” grains like many people assume. Cows in feedlots are fed DDGS (dried distillers grain with solubles), a cheap waste product of GMO, inedible dent corn used for making ethanol. While cow milk has some qualities, nothing surpasses buffalo milk, which provides everything the body needs. I miss the taste, strength, and quality of buffalo milk in Haryana. Buffaloes are fed cotton seeds, gwar, and grams, making their milk superior to any non-veg diet worldwide—if it’s pure. One day, I will establish a buffalo milk dairy to serve humanity with this exceptional product.

And of course, we know about Dr Darrell, and in 91 or so, when he proclaimed that milk was toxic, yes, and that's what I showed in 86 and 87 that, in fact, bovine growth hormone added to cows milk would absolutely cause an explosion in obesity and diabetes and other things. This is what we know from Dr Richard Deth's work, D, E, T, H and A2 cows and preserving real cows and real food. But what did we take out before that? So we did Twiggy's in the 1960s and we started using low-fat and fortified milk. Well, you don't add vitamin D to milk, you don't fortify milk, you don't pull the critical fats from the milk. During prolonged heating or concentration process, lighter water molecules evaporate faster. The heavier deuterium-containing water stays behind. The more processed the food — the higher its deuterium load. It means a highly processed food and a fresh food with identical macros deliver completely different deuterium loads to your mitochondria. A separate 2021 review “What to feed or what not to feed—that is still the question” published in Metabolomics found the same logic applies to grass-fed vs grain-fed animal products. Grain-fed animals — corn, soy, barley — follow a carbohydrate metabolism that is deuterium-enriching. Grass-fed animals operate in a natural ketogenic state that produces deuterium-depleted metabolic water. Grass-fed meat carries less deuterium than grain-fed equivalents. How do you feel about lamb aka land salmon? With the price of beef escalating the way it is, this lady makes a really good pitch for sheep/lamb. Sheep can feed your family faster, easier and cheaper than any other livestock. They don't need expensive grain. They do just fine on grass and weeds. Lamb can be eaten at 6 months. Dave Asprey went off on plant milks on Jay Shetty’s podcast and didn’t hold back. He called most of them expensive, over-hyped junk: - Almond milk = high in phytic acid (steals minerals from your bones) + oxalates (linked to kidney stones & joint pain) + it kills a ton of bees. - Oat milk = basically raises your blood sugar like drinking a Coke, often loaded with glyphosate. His blunt advice: Skip the fake milks. They’re mostly water, anti-nutrients, and additives with almost zero protein. If you want something, coconut milk is the least bad option — but even then you’ll probably need to add real protein. The whole category is mostly a marketing scam. This one made me rethink what’s actually in my fridge. What’s your go-to milk (or milk alternative) these days — and did this change how you see any of them?
