Dave Asprey on Jay Shetty’s podcast made a solid point about dairy: humans have been drinking milk for 5,000+ years, but the modern stuff from grain-fed cows (A1 protein, wrong fats) is inflammatory for many people. He says it wrecks his gut, swells his brain, and causes mucus. A2... show more

This is from @daveasprey’s chat with @jayshetty. Full interview:

The Amish have been delivering raw milk in Chicago for 20+ yrs now & only got pulled over once by government forcing them to dump it until worked around the law Most freak out when they hear raw milk out of ignorance but I also still see people wearing masks & using umbrellas to block the sun so you kind of expect it 😜

This is your dairy:

Maybe US should have banned bovine growth serum from monstanto. Lobbied against it in Canada and we banned it. Hence why American milk is so highly tariffed in Canada.

GOAT MILK not COW MILK!

Conventional dairy can be inflammatory to our brains.

has anyone actually tested their own inflammatory response switching from A1 to A2, or is most of this still self-reported gut feelings?

I miss some dairy, like Gruyère, parmigiano or butter, but the problem is - I like only the taste of A1-dairy. Tried several A2, all taste gross to me. Including Jersey, goat, sheep. I'll pass 🙃

Maybe we've been made allergic to dairy through vaccines? And cows fed gmo corn doesn't help.

Im protein sensitive NOT lactose intolerant IMHO a1 & a2 INDICATES type of beta casein (amino chain) in the milk. A1 from commercial breeds has a weak link that during digestion releases a possibly gut inflammatory chemical byproduct BCM7 whereas a2from indigenous breeds doesn’t

Ever since I started making my own yogurt and Kefir, and consuming large amounts of it, my milk intolerance has almost disappeared. My ability to handle wheat has also increased. I believe, most people don't have a problem with milk, they lack the gut biome to digest it.

Finding the right diet starts with listening to your own body consistently
