2026 means new David Fincher. Fincher is throwing his hat in a year that includes new Nolan, Denis, Spielberg, Ridley, and more. Panic Room is the perfect example of Fincher building suspense & chocking his audience with it. This isn’t Fincher’s best, but it’s a damn good film.

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button is David Fincher’s most misunderstood film. I think people overlook this movie because it’s a long, slow burn- but this is an extremely thought-provoking story. Combine that with Fincher’s surgical filmmaking, it makes for a strong film.

Christopher Nolan: "I had some very brave producer at some point had anonymously said of me, 'He's a cold guy who makes cold films,' years before, and that is sort of stuck on me for several projects." The Last Duel is Matt Damon’s best film of the decade that was not directed by Christopher Nolan. It would be hard for any film to top Oppenheimer or The Odyssey, but Ridley Scott’s The Last Duel has aged stupendously. This deserves a re-release in theaters at some point. Damon is electric in this movie.

Um, you know, I like to say it was a very hard movie, but hard for all the right reasons. You know, it’s The Odyssey, it should be hard. Um… Jon Stewart: It shows up on screen. I mean, all of it shows up on screen. Christopher Nolan: Thank you. Jon Stewart: And someone was telling me that you actually completed it ahead of schedule, as you have with all of your movies, and under budget. Christopher Nolan: Yes. Jon Stewart: Never happens! Christopher Nolan: "Going to the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago when I was 16 years old, seeing a documentary about volcanoes in the OmniMax format, and thinking... why on earth isn't Hollywood using this format? I always wanted to be a director. If I ever got the chance, could I shoot a film in this way?" Christopher Nolan: "I called my friends at IMAX and said, look... if ever we're going to make a film entirely on IMAX, this is The Odyssey. This is the one. Can you find a way to alleviate the limiting factor? The cameras are extremely loud."
