Basically, I think there is a movie renaissance occurring where people are going back to watch movies they dismissed back then. We were spoiled and called some of these movie's trash, but considering what is available now, these older movies are gold.

I don’t want a sequel to Waterworld but, after seeing a submarine crashed in the middle of a group of submerged skyscrapers, I wanted to see a prequel. One that told of a world struggling to survive a natural disaster of unimaginable proportions.

You lost me on Waterworld. It's a stupid movie built on a stupid concept. It was the first movie to cost 200 million dollars... so yeah, very expensive. But so are Gold Chains and $5,000 G-Shoks.

The Ulysses cut makes the movie more cohesive and fixes some of the plot holes from the theatrical cut. Plus a scene with a pre-fame Jack Black as a gunner.

I remember thinking the humans in Waterworld are one of the examples where they're genuinely fucked. The bad guy rants that the atolls are getting fewer and I think in one deleted scene the atolls are actively concerned about inbreeding. Then the MC's find the top of Everest but for what? Too few people to start over and the ones who were there before died off centuries ago.

one of my favorite aspects of this new work is that it is generative, not based on an arbitrary random number, but based on the chaos of real life. the physical sculpture is constantly pulling in news and real-time data from all over the world and the NFT is updated daily as well with this hectic collage of information overload... i believe in the future more work will be dynamic like this allowing us to reimagine real-time data in new ways based on different events happening in the world...

The film eventually became profitable, but rewrites, hurricanes, and set issues pushed the film’s budget to new heights. The entire production/release of this film did a number on Costner’s reputation. With all that said, I enjoy this film& think the criticism of it was overdone.

im absolutely amazed by burning man. it truly is a special place where all the usual social norms disappear, allowing people to just build the most creative shit on earth. 80% of the burn is really hard: the prep, work, dust, and all the costs. but the other 20% is magical, and somehow makes all of it worth it. best part is, the burn is different for everyone. everything in there is a side quest and every person gets lost in a different way, which is kinda beautiful and i love it. great way to unlearn planning and having expectations and just surrendering to whatever is happening.
