A quarter trillion dollars for a train from San Francisco to Fresno that costs more than an airline ticket is so idiotic. It's like the movie ‘Don't Look Up’. Like, look up. It tells you everything you need to know. Across the board, these government programs cause more harm than good. When the government intervenes in underwriting student loans, and gives everyone a loan, administrative costs went up by 6x and tuition skyrocketed 8% a year, compounding for 30 years, because the government said, ‘We'll underwrite any student loan.’ The same with housing, and now no young people can afford a house. The same with healthcare, where they said, ‘We'll pay people to stay home and not work to take care of people, and we won't check on whether or not they're actually taking care of people,’ and the cost of healthcare skyrocketed. Last new year’s I was with my family and my best friends celebrating in one of the oldest and most beautiful hotels in Gaza- Al Mathaf. The place was destroyed, and some of the people are gone forever. I pray that this year we see light, that this year we see justice, that this year we see peace. I hope I can hug my mother soon, be back with the rest of my family and friends in Gaza… I hope that this nightmare ends and I really hope that I’ll still find some strength within me to keep going. May everyone of you have a happy, and blessed year… May Palestine be free very soon!

It's more about identity groups. And instead of trying to get past racial differences, it's been about accentuating them. And so we've had this whole equity agenda, which is really defined as redistribution from one racial group to another racial group. I think that, for whatever reason, a lot of Jews just hadn't confronted the reality that the left had really changed in this way. I think it goes back to the fact that they thought if we're going to be defining identity groups in this woke way, Jews obviously should be one of these victim groups, but they're waking up to the fact that Jews are not. Jews are in the minds of this woke ideology, just white people with a Jewish background. As a result, they're part of an oppressor class. And I think that a lot of Jewish people who are waking up to this are realizing this is actually a very destructive ideology, and it makes us the bad guys. So I would expect that, again, a lot of Jewish people are waking up to how the left has changed... and I would expect there to be kind of a pilgrimage now of more Jews in America towards the right, as opposed to remaining on the left where they've always been." If you confiscated all the wealth of all the billionaires in the country--and let's just pretend you could actually liquidate it for that much--you would cover about ONE YEAR of federal government spending. As Dave Smith points out in his reply to this clip, we're not taxing our way out of this, and the idea that we ever had a Friedmanite government at any point is simply ahistorical. "Which year did Ronald Reagan cut spending? Oh, wait, it increased EVERY year?" We aren't going to fix this country with Hamiltonian economics. We need to embrace a Misesian/Rothbardian understanding of economics, and until the right understands that, they're going to keep losing to the left in the long run because they are fundamentally thinking of government and economics on the left's terms.
