.David Haugh found Ryan Poles' approach in the NFL Draft to be "curious." "Nobody would ever know, if you didn't read it in his bio, that the Bears general manager played offensive tackle in college," Haugh says.

@DavidHaugh Over the last 3 drafts, he’s drafted an OT in the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd rounds. The year prior, he drafted a starting OT in the 5th. How many OT’s should we draft? Maybe just draft an OT in the first round every year, so we REALLY know what position he played in college?

@DavidHaugh Proud of the fans dragging this weak take. Glad we don’t have boomers running the front office.

You’re about 2 years too late on this rant. The fan base went been ranted with this take in the 2022 Braxton Jones & 2023 Braxton Jones drafts. He’s done a remarkable job at building the draft through free agency & trades this offseason. Jones and Wright have been Day 2 starters. He’s drafted a lot of development OL, recently 2024 Kiran Amegadjie, this year Ozzy Trapilo & Luke Newman. You can say he has missed on quite a few draft picks but as the roster stands currently we’re solid at every position on paper. This draft was not a high end deep OL draft class but the trenches were ABSOLUTELY unequivocally addressed this offseason to cover for that. I have a feeling we add a couple more depth pieces as well.

@DavidHaugh Is this man stupid? Did he forget how OL was the priority this free agency? He literally brought in 6 new offensive lineman this off season with the possibility of 4 being starters. You can’t make this shit up… Chicago sports media is ass.

In year 4 - the year Haugh is currently bitching about: Thuney (All Pro LG for a 4th round pick) Dalman (Center FA $ splash) Jonah Jackson (RG for a 6th round pick, formerly all-pro with Ben Johnson) and then used a 2nd round pick on Trapillo who very likely starts at RT with their best OL in Wright moving to the left side and He literally reconstructed the entire OL left-to-right while getting two more weapons in Loveland and Burden. We can bitch about the UDFA-graded LB in the 4th, but this take is utter horseshit consistent with David Haugh's body of work.

Don't Miss Any of The Action

@DavidHaugh As has been said many times, 3 OTs were taken before the Bears pick. I think it’s also fair to say the top OT pick would have been the 5th drafted last year. I think there’s not much worse than overdrafting at premium positions.

@DavidHaugh Haugh might be the dumbest voice on sports radio. As Hawk Harrelson said he’s a Jock Sniffer and that’s being nice

@DavidHaugh Must have forgotten about free agency, the tackle taken in the 2nd round and our RT who was a top 10 pick.

@DavidHaugh What a ridiculously dumb take. 3 OT’s were taken before they picked. Value didn’t line up. He took one in the 2nd. And oh, they KIND OF addressed OL rather phenomenally in FA. Seriously, get better. God, that’s awful.

@DavidHaugh This is why old retards like you wrinkly fucks need to get off the radio. You dumb morons don’t know shit about the modern NFL
