David Sacks: Crypto Legislation to Expect in 2025 On E214, David Sacks broke down two crypto bills we could see over the next few months: 1) Stablecoin Framework -- Senator Bill Hagerty introduced a stablecoin bill last week -- bill aims to be "safe" and "pro-growth" -- goals include... "enhancing transaction efficiency" and "driving demand for US Treasuries" -- prohibits algorithmic stablecoins -- requires 1-to-1 reserves and AML compliance 2) Market Structure -- digital assets can be many things -- currencies, commodities, securities, collectibles, etc. -- "And one of the things that the market needs is just clarity around the definitions, so that founders know what the rules of the road are, and they can actually just comply with them." Sacks added that this is the first time that all chairmen of the four key committees that govern crypto are aligned in supporting pro-crypto legislation. @BarHBARian @DavidSacks @SenatorHagerty All four key committee chairs backing pro-crypto legislation is huge. Stablecoins get priority, no surprise, the US wants control over dollar-backed assets. Market structure clarity is long overdue, but passing it in six months? I think that's optimistic.

Fed Chair: We're Not Bailing Out Anybody, Including Crypto Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh Not Kevin Warsh said at a July 14 hearing of the U.S. House Financial Services Committee that the Fed does not want to be in the bailout business, and hopes reforms can reduce extreme risks so the financial system is not in a position where anyone needs to be bailed out, including the crypto industry. However, when pressed on whether the Fed would provide support if stablecoins or the crypto market faced a run, Warsh did not make a clear commitment that there would be no bailout under any circumstances.

The Economist says the stablecoin market is "fizzling." We asked Bridge co-founder Zach Abrams his response: "Our business grew 4x last year. Our business continues to grow enormously. We grew 20% over the last month alone. So, we certainly don't see stablecoins slowing down." "Stablecoin transaction volume is growing enormously. We see that the number of folks building with stablecoins is growing enormously." "We have folks from a bunch of banks who are leaning into stablecoins. Pretty much every fintech that you could think of that is meaningful is doing something with stablecoins (and probably doing it with us)." Back in DC pushing for market structure legislation. There's been lots of great progress since I was last here which is great to see. Hoping for a mark up of the CLARITY bill in December, and for it to be on President Donald J. Trump's desk soon after. This bill will get crypto further unlocked in the US with clear rules, which will benefit all businesses, protect customers, and unleash builders. Let's keep pushing!
