Dawson Park gets Cotuit going with a leadoff single against former Tiger Mavrick Rizy. His average is now up to .316. Most of Park’s time this summer has been spent at shortstop. Interestingly enough, he hasn’t started a single game at third base. Cotuit Kettleers LSU Baseball

Already one of the most productive run producers at the mid-major level over his first two college seasons, VCU Baseball catcher Jacob Lee has kept that going all summer for 𝐁𝐫𝐞𝐰𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐖𝐡𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐚𝐩𝐬. Thursday against Hyannis, he went 3-for-5 with a double and six RBIs, including a 105 mph two-RBI single, and he now leads the Cape League with 5 home runs while hitting .289/.348/.518 at the All-Star break. More on Lee and other Cape Cod League standouts ⤵️ 🔗

🚨SCORING RULES ALERT🚨 This is from today's Detroit Tigers at New York Mets game. Here, with Workman on second, Zach McKinstry hits a fly to left that lands, and Workman is thrown out 7-5 at third base. This was ruled a single, and the question has been asked as to why. First, this is the correct scoring, as this is a single. If this were a ground ball to short, and the runner is out 6-5 at third on a ball that would have otherwise been a hit, this would have been a fielder's choice, and the difference is in the wording on rule 9.05(b)(3), which says that you do not score a hit when a: (3) pitcher, the catcher or any infielder handles a batted ball and puts out a preceding runner who is attempting to advance one base or to return to his original base, or would have put out such runner with ordinary effort except for a fielding error. The Official Scorer shall charge the batter with a time at bat but no hit; The key is in the McKinstry play, the ball is handled by an outfielder, and not the pitcher, catcher, or any infielder. Another one of those fun weird scoring rules that is great to have in your back pocket for when it comes up.

It's a two-hour drive from Scranton to Citizens Bank Park if the Yankees call up George Lombard Jr. on the off day today. There's no better time than now because he's on a heater. One thing George Lombard Jr. figured out this year is the ability to crush baseballs. At Triple-A, he has an average exit velocity of 92.7 MPH (93rd percentile) and a 49.6% hard hit rate (87th percentile). It’s up from where he was two years ago in Single-A. He had an 88.6 MPH average exit velo and a 35.9% hard-hit rate in 2024.

Everyone is talking about this video, but I think this is two people trying to avoid each other and Conner just making a mistake at the shortstop position. The slide is clearly off the base and then he comes clearly off the base to meet the slide. I think he had it pre-decided in his mind that he was going to try to avoid a direct slide and they just ended up at the same place. I could be wrong unless the shortstop is trying to get some sort of obstruction or interference call #raisethecone #pittsburg #Pirates #Raysup #Tampa #Mlb

Slo-mo side angle look through the rain (just before the delay) at ‘26 LSU Baseball commit Luke Tucker (Luke Tucker). The 6-4, 210-pound 3B/SS smokes this one to right for a single in the AZ Fall Classic Draft Prospect Classic. A tool’d up dude who’s gotten more physical year over year. Had a breakout summer with an Area Code appearance, playing with Pirates NTX Scout Team this fall and now on the Five Tool Baseball squad. Out of Krum Baseball (TX). Five Tool BaseballTexas Profile:

Dalton Rushing spent time with young baseball players and students this morning reading, handing out books and singing Just last week, he was a part of the biggest story in baseball after miscommunications with Shohei Ohtani during a game & shared what he hopes young players learn from him: “You’re a human being. There’s going to be times where things are turned against you and there’s nothing you can do about it. At the end of the day, showing up, doing something like this, spending time with kids kind of shows the true person you are.”

Has to be this play with the whole jersey-untucked rule against the Wolves when he was with the Thunder. This is the most Chris Paul thing of all time. A rule that 99.9999999999999% of players wouldn't have noticed, and it ended up swinging the result of a game.

Does the Nation of 260 million nuclear armed country can be run by the clowns with a single digit IQ ? He has no idea what is he saying, however bigger question is that why Ministry of Foreign Affairs - Pakistan isn’t left with anyone with enough intellect to draft his speech which is to be delivered at the center stage of the world !!!

Former Alabama shortstop Jim Jarvis continues to prove why he belongs in the big leagues. Tonight was a prime example of why. In his first start after the MLB All-Star break, Jarvis finished 2/5 with an RBI and 2 runs scored. Since joining the Braves at the beginning of July, Jarvis has made seven starts. During that time, he has amassed a .320 batting average with a home run and 3 RBIs. What are your thoughts on Jarvis’ play since being called up to ‘The Show?’

Before the boardrooms, before the towers, before the presidency, Donald Trump was a legitimate baseball prospect good enough to draw scouts from a major league franchise while playing first base at the New York Military Academy. The media has spent a decade painting a one-dimensional portrait of this man, and stories like this remind real Americans that they are dealing with someone who has excelled at virtually everything he has ever put his hand to throughout his entire life. Military school, elite athletics, billion-dollar business empire, and now the most consequential presidency of the modern era - the left can mock him all they want but the resume speaks for itself. There is a reason this man connects with working class Americans who love sports, competition, and winning because at his core, long before politics, that is exactly who Donald Trump has always been. Comment WOW if you had no idea Trump was scouted by a professional baseball team and love learning the real story behind the man the media refuses to show you.

So the guy that basically never flops gets a post game tech when clearly the ballhandler truly fully extended his arm into Russ's upper chest area for no other reason than to shed Russ out of his spot he occupied as a defender which by definition is an offensive foul? Yeah ok bro..... but Russ gets hacked every game, and because he doesn't flop, he never gets a foul call. What is he supposed to do? He did flop this one time, but this is a joke, bro. Wayyy more flopping going on every single night.

How about Lander Baseball, ripping off wins in 14 of their last 15 games, including a weekend sweep on the road at Augusta? Grant Sherrod has been on FIRE lately, hitting .484 in this stretch with 5 homers and 24 driven in. He leads the team with a .400 average. Evan Wickeri has been on a mission! He went 3-for-5 with a homer and 3 RBI today. He's hit .394 in this stretch with 10 doubles, a home run, and 17 RBI. He's now up to .380 on the year. #D2Baseball

President Carter’s time on this earth is coming to an end according to his grandson Jason Carter. What a great man. At 99 he has accomplished so much. With an election coming up let’s remember all he has done for voting rights. Jason Carter: "My grandfather is doing okay. He has been in hospice, as you know, for almost a year and a half now, and he really is, I think, coming to the end. I’ve said before, there’s a part of this faith journey that is so important to him, and there’s a part of that faith journey that you only can live at the very end and I think he has been there in that space."

Music has truly been a gift and a blessing to my life, and I’m both grateful and proud to keep this journey going. The #LoveLifeTragedy story started almost a year ago with an album, and now it continues with a brand new title track to open up the next chapter. "Love Life Tragedy"—my new solo single—is officially coming to all streaming platforms March 17. 🎶🤎
