These people have been toiling away in prison unjustly for a long time. It should be a priority to get them out right away. Most presidents pardon at the end of the term because they don’t want to lose political capital, but if it’s the right thing to do it should be done first.

The rescission request would codify the work of the Department of Government Efficiency, which sought to shutter the U.S. Agency for International Development, eliminate foreign aid programs it deemed wasteful and cease funding for other international institutions.
