We don’t ask nightclubs to serve orange squash to kids so they can have something to drink. We say no kids in nightclubs. Social media is exactly the same. Social media is not a safe for children. Extreme content is rife, and the safeguards the companies have put in place are complex and woefully ineffective. It’s time to make sure children are protected from adult spaces. The Government should focus on what matters, not banning companies they don’t like.

Section 230 is a relic of the early internet. Signed into law in 1996, when “logging on” meant a dial-up connection and social media didn’t exist. It helped the internet grow. But today, it’s helping tear our society apart. In the real world, speech has limits. You can’t threaten violence or spread harm without consequences and you shouldn’t be able to do it online either. Over the past 30 years, the internet has gone from a luxury to a necessity, and social media has turned from an experiment into a massive business. These companies shouldn’t enjoy blanket immunity while their platforms spread threats, violence, and hate. It’s time for Congress to update Section 230 and hold social media companies accountable for keeping dangerous content off their platforms, just like we expect responsibility and accountability everywhere else.

These parents went to Six Flags, then they went to eat and say they got home at 11:00 PM the night before. The problem is, their toddler is still in the car. When the police let them know, they don’t seem too upset over that fact. Could drugs and/or alcohol be involved, and what should happen to parents like this? Some people shouldn’t be in charge of children. Part 2 in comments below.

Within 60 days, parental consent must be in place for 14- to 16-year-olds. 🔻 My Thoughts: I’m sorry… but this is bullshit. To implement this, there's no real way to find out if a user is underage without asking people to upload identification. This stinks like a backdoor to digital ID. Something Ron Desantis was repeated against.. what happened? The fact is PARENTS… not the GOVERNMENT, are responsible for their children. And if PARENTS want to - every single platform online, as well as the internet providers itself has Parental Controls which have existed for all operating systems. But it’s too late…Florida's HB 3 has already passed and its law. Desantis signed it into law. I’m getting real tired of the hypocrisy…

American mother is at the doctors officer and films her children destroying the office to post on social media She doesn’t make them stop, she lets them destroy everything, the child is allowed to pull out all the padding used to keep things sanitary for other patients We as Americans need to stop accepting this behavior. Our society was not like this in the past There should be accountability. She should be charged for the damages.
