Mainstream media has been lying on the TPS numbers. They keep reporting 330,000 Haitians and 10,000 Syrians when in reality it’s 1.56 million TPS’s that will now be deported. DHS has officially terminated Temporary Protected Status to more than 1 million migrants, who can either leave the US on their own, or be immediately detained and deported. DHS announced that the temporary designations no longer apply and told former TPS holders - now illegal migrants - to depart voluntarily through the CBP Home program or risk removal by ICE. Terminations taking effect in recent weeks, include: 🟦Somalia 🟦Burma (Myanmar) and 🟦South Sudan 🟦Haiti and 🟦Syria 🟦Yemen DHS says TPS was always temporary, and the migrant’s home countries no longer meet the statutory criteria for TPS under the Immigration and Nationality Act, so they can now go home. Administrations extended many designations for years or decades, turning what was labeled temporary into something closer to long-term residence and work authorization for more than a million people as of early 2025. The Trump administration terminated TPS for 11 countries impacting about 1,038,600 migrants. The Supreme Court ruled Trump has the authority to do so. Migrants who register, pass vetting, and confirm departure can receive a free one-way plane ticket, a $2,600 exit bonus upon return to their home country or another country where they have legal status, temporary deprioritization from ICE enforcement while arranging travel, and forgiveness of certain failure-to-depart civil fines.
