De-escalation should ALWAYS be the first priority when faced with hostile/violent circumstances. What would you do in this situation?

You walk towards my car with a gun drawn and you’re more than likely getting dropped. There is little to no de escalation if guns are drawn.

I don’t disagree personally. I’m looking at it from legal angles. For the most part, how I respond would depend on what state I’m in. But overall dude closed that triangle the minute he got out of his car.

If I had room to backup or evade, I would. If not and he’s approaching with a firearm and I’m boxed into my vehicle, I’m dropping him. No questions asked. He’s brandishing and I’m not waiting around for his intent.

I usually start backing out of those situations as soon as they stop. I’m not giving them any indication that I’m sticking around and I’m on with the police tell them about the footage on my dash cam. If this dude so much as aims at me at any point, he’s dropped. If I’m unable to back up, like this driver might be stuck in front of someone that we can’t see, I’d probably have dropped this guy as soon as his head turns.
