Delta has just reported that the pilot on the Toronto flight was an experienced man, and that the first officer, a woman, is fully qualifed and had been flying professionally for a year. Delta will not release their names. These videos make you wonder.

James Henneman and Kendal Swanson. She was flying, he was on the radio.

The only redeeming thing about Delta is the Korean Arlines flights operated by Delta into East Asia where all the stewardesses are the most attractive Korean ladies they can find and all the pilots are male Korean men.

As the leaks go, she had been flying for a year. That seems not to be in dispute. But the claim is that she had only recently gotten a qualification to fly that particular type of plane.

Yes, it was a hard landing, but not hard enough to collapse the landing gear. I suspect a mechanical issue may have caused this. Let's withhold judgment on the pilots until the investigation is complete.
