DELTA STATE POLICE COMMAND PRESS RELEASE POLICE ARREST POPULAR CONTENT CREATOR ( POPULARLY KNOWN AS ODOGWU OF ASABA) OVER ALLEGED RAPE OF 20-YEAR-OLD WOMAN The Delta State Police Command has arrested Ifeanyi Ogbonna, male, aged 40, also populary known as “Odogwu of Asaba,” in connection with the alleged rape... of a 20-year-old woman, who later died. The arrest followed a petition received by the Command alleging that on 1 June 2026, the deceased travelled to Asaba at the invitation of the suspect, who had offered to train her in content creation, a programme he reportedly promoted through his social media platform. Upon her arrival in Asaba, the suspect allegedly took her to a hotel, where he allegedly raped her and subjected her to physical violence. She later returned home visibly distressed and disclosed the incident to her parents. In the aftermath of the alleged assault, the deceased made a video recording in which she recounted her experience and the emotional distress she suffered following the incident. She subsequently commited suicide by ingesting a toxic substance and later died despite efforts to save her life. Upon receipt of the petition, the Commissioner of Police, Delta State Command, CP Yemi Oyeniyi, psc, acipm, mnips, directed the Area Command Effurun to carry out an immediate and thorough investigation into the allegations. Acting on the directive, operatives of the Command swiftly commenced investigation, leading to the arrest of Ifeanyi Ogbonna, also known as “Odogwu of Asaba.” During preliminary investigation, the suspect reportedly made useful statements to the Police, while further investigation is ongoing to establish the full circumstances surrounding the case. The Ogun State Police Command has arrested one Mr. Johnson Elleh for producing and circulating a misleading video falsely alleging kidnapping and banditry activities along the Owode-Idiroko axis of Ogun State. During the course of the investigation, the suspect reportedly confessed to intentionally creating and disseminating the misleading content to generate online engagement and public reaction. Investigation is ongoing, and the suspect will be charged to court upon conclusion of the investigation.

A Muslim young woman working at Gaurav Dental Clinic in Kala Aam area of Bulandshahr has made a serious allegation of rape against her operator. The victim’s family has submitted a complaint at Kotwali Nagar against the accused doctor and demanded action. According to the victim, she had been working at the said dentist’s clinic as a nurse for the past about three years. It is alleged that the doctor called her into his room on the pretext of making tea and there forcibly raped her. After the incident, the young woman told the entire matter to her family. After this, the family took her to the Kotwali and filed a complaint against the accused. The family has accused the police of delay in taking action. The victim is said to be a resident of Bhud Shanti Nagar area. Police officials said that the case is being investigated on the basis of the received complaint. After the investigation is completed, necessary legal action will be taken.

She disclosed that despite making several visits to the Abuakwa Divisional Police Command and paying GH¢500 for a police report, no significant progress has been made, while the alleged perpetrator continues to walk freely.

The incident is said to have occurred on 02 April 2026, at the Volksrust Police Station. It is worth noting that in light of the serious allegation, the SAPS has instituted an internal investigation to thoroughly examine the circumstances surrounding the incident. In addition to the internal investigation, a criminal investigation is also underway to ensure all aspects of this matter are addressed transparently. The Independent Police Investigative Directorate (IPID) has been notified of the incident and it is expected that a parallel investigation will be conducted by this Directorate.

The breakthrough followed investigations into three separate cases, which revealed a coordinated syndicate that fraudulently obtained exotic vehicles from dealers using false representations and dud or post-dated cheques before disposing of the vehicles for personal gain. The investigation led to the arrest of key suspects, while other members of the syndicate remain at large. Through intelligence-led operations and the AUTOREG Vehicle Tracking Platform, detectives recovered Toyota Highlander (2017 Model), Toyota Highlander (2007 Model), Toyota RAV4 (2010 Model), two (2) Toyota Hiace Buses (2016 Model), one Toyota Hiace Bus (2020 Model), and one Ford Edge SUV (2018 Model). Efforts are ongoing to arrest the fleeing suspects and recover the remaining vehicles. The suspects will be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigations. RIVERS STATE POLICE COMMAND Clarification on TikTok Video and Call for Official Complaints from TikTok User Anambra 1st son The Rivers State Police Command, having received a TikTok video shared on the X platform (formerly known as Twitter) by a user Anambra 1st son, has taken proactive steps to establish communication with the concerned individual referred to as "Kay Persona". Since September 8, 2023, despite the Command's commitment to ensuring utmost confidentiality, the said complainant has not come forward to formally register any grievances related to the content depicted in the TikTok video. Any attempts to blackmail the Command through social media or spreading false information will not be tolerated. It is essential to note that police officers who have been found wanting in their relationship with members of the public have been dealt with, and we remain committed to addressing such issues. Anyone with concrete information as to the whereabouts of 'Kay Persona,' should, please contact the Command, as he has not responded to our invitations. In the light of this absence of official contact from the affected party, the command hereby believes the content of the video to be unsubstantiated and therefore false. We urge the public to discountenance its claims while reiterating that all complainants about Police actions or inaction may be reported via the following contact numbers: 09014273818 and 08161355218. After speaking to the commissioner of police, lagos state, we had a press conference wherein we addressed several issues as it relates to this protest. In our address, we mentioned that the Commissioner of Police Lagos State Police Command have ordered the immediate release of the protesters who were arrested and detained in Panti, we also spoke about the peaceful protest and the conduct of the enforcement officers. In the press briefing, we assured protesters that our group of lawyers are willing and ready to freely secure the release of whoever is arrested in lagos state. I'm therefore using this medium to urge everyone protesting to ensure that the protest is done peaceful. Please reach out whenever someone protesting close to you is arrested by Lagos State Police Command

Nana Afia Serwaa, a television personality and news anchor at Atinka TV Ghana, is pleading with the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) and the Director-General of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service to ensure justice for her 11-year-old daughter, who was killed in an accident. She laments that her daughter died in an accident on 4th May 2025, and that almost a year later, the case, now with the Abuakwa Divisional Police Command, has yielded no meaningful outcome.
