Sean fans won’t like to hear this lol. At the end of the day, Sean signed a contract. Fight through it.

He signs a new contract RECENTLY then pulls this. The time to play hardball was during the negotiations not after. This feels orchestrated by him bc likely his plan was to sign, bet on winning the belt and us that as leverage to get more money as a champ.

They traded him , he never fought through his contract, unless im remembering that wrong

Steven Toro2 days ago

I say this all the time, plenty of fighters have been talking about being fed up with the ufc and wanting to get out of their contracts for years. Yet they won't do what it takes, the promotion isn't going to help you. Fight your fights and move on to negotiate with other promos

@SStricklandMMA already beat @KChimaev and @imavov1, a rematch does nothing for his legacy. Have them fight each other and show @ufc that they can make weight and that they've improved their skills. Sean can fight @ufc's third obligatory fight offer (per year) otherwise.

"I want more money but I don't wanna move up and fight with another champion. Im gonna keep clearing a divison full of part time fighters and call myself a goat. Dana can you pay me more for it???"

Dj really is an idiot sometimes. I’m pretty sure he was complaining on his YouTube channel about the ufc pay multiple times. He should stop being a pussy and stand with Sean on this. The ufc is a criminal organization.

Demetrious Johnson questions Sean Strickland's complaints about UFC fighter pay, but respects his frustrations: "When is enough enough? Do I wish I made more money? 100%. But I'm not gonna sit here and gripe and moan about it. At the end of the day, it's Sean Strickland's journey. It's his career. If he's not happy with it, I have to respect that he's unhappy with it. It doesn't mean I have to agree with him. I'm a black and white type person, right? He signed a contract and he's got 5 fights left in his contract."

Ilia Topuria remains adamant that Max Holloway needs to put his BMF belt on the line if they fight, and says he'd rather fight Brian Ortega or Alexander Volkanovski if he doesn't: "You [Max] are the BMF champion, you have the opportunity to fight for the title. What are you going to do? Are you going to fight, or are you not going to fight? And he says 'sign the contract'... where are you? Where are you? Put the [BMF] belt in the game... Demetrious Johnson did not speak with Dana White at UFC Seattle, but did have a conversation with Hunter Campbell: “I said, ‘I appreciate you letting me out of my contract. I really do.’ At the end of the day, the UFC could have said no. They let me get out of my contract, and when I went to ONE Championship, I made great money. I truly believe if I had never gone to ONE Championship, I wouldn’t be in the position I’m in today. I have to be grateful. I have to show respect.”

MVP reveals he'll make more money in his three-fight Misfits deal than he did during his entire UFC run, with seven figures per fight: "Misfits came with an absolutely crazy deal, which means I've continued to grow and get better financially. I've left the UFC and I'm making more money. Like two times more, maybe just over, and in a shorter period. In a three-fight deal, I'll make more than I have my whole UFC contract."

Sean O'Malley on navigating UFC contracts in the Paramount+ era: "You sign a contract, and you have a certain number of fights on it… Once you sign that contract, you can’t fight 4–5 times and then complain, ‘Hey, why am I getting paid this much?’ At some point, you renegotiate your contract. I think I have two more fights left on mine. UFC doesn’t really like it when fighters fight out their contracts, because then you become a free agent. I feel like I’ll probably renegotiate before my next fight. UFC is always taking care of me — they’ve been very good to me."

"I've said yes to Belal and I've said yes to Sean Brady. I've said yes to those guys, whenever they want to do it. I'd fight Saturday. I just want to fight. I don't want to be in this political battle of, I'm just going to try hold my spot, try to maintain relevancy, and then look for this option. I want to be active. I want to beat the best in the world. I have a preference of leaning towards Belal, for reasons that are very obvious... Former champion, just lost the belt in a close fight with JDM. He has fought Sean Brady and knocked out Sean Brady and is number one in the world. So for me, I lean towards fighting Belal. I'm not against fighting Sean, but whoever I fight, I'm fighting for a number one contender fight. That's it. That's happening." Ian Garry speaks about the Islam Makhachev fight: “He’s never fought someone as long and tall as me. He’s not fought someone as fast as me… He might get me down, I hope he does. Because I want to prove to the world that he can’t submit me. I want to prove to the world that I can beat him in his own world… I’m going to bounce him on his skull. I’m going to take his title.” 😳 (via “The Future” Ian Machado Garry)

🤝Tom Aspinall’s father explains his comments about Tom switching to boxing “Some reporters think that because I said he should box it affected him in the fight. I've never heard so much sh*t people say that what I say affects Tom in a fight. I say lot’s of things to lot’s of people... It's just because of the money. If your son was a fighter, would you want your son to fight for a ton of money or not a ton of money? It's a no-brainer." 🎥 Tom Aspinall

"The amount of money I was making as a champion compared to not champion is significant. I was making a lot more money as a champion. That's what I want next. I want Petr Yan next. I want the belt next. It makes it that much sweeter that it's a rematch... If they go Merab x Petr, I wait." Sean O'Malley discusses what could be next for him.

Ryan Garcia says he wants to bring Terence Crawford out of retirement and questions the strength of his résumé: "At the end of the day, I don't know why he's hating on me, bro. Obviously, he's biased because he doesn't like me. I don't think he really fought anybody who was young, talented, and hungry. He didn't fight Vergil. He didn't fight Boots. He retired too early. Canelo was already kind of past his prime in a way, you know what I mean? Spence was a nice one. I'll give him that. I've always wanted to fight him. I still want to fight him. I want to get him out of retirement and beat him. I don't see anything that I'd have a problem with. He's not really that iconic for me to say it's a dream fight. Manny Pacquiao, for me, is a dream fight."
