NGate malware impersonates a banking verification app to steal NFC traffic session and PIN from victims’ physical payment card. Threat actor can then use it to withdraw money from ATM via contactless terminal without having victim's payment card More info:

Prevention tips: -download apps only from trustworthy sources -never put payment card in back side of your smartphone as part of any verification process -don't share you secrets - such as PIN

Fake, pins are not stored inside the card without encryption. Good luck breaking the encryption. But contactless payments are a real threat.
