EOCO stated that the former IMCCoD chief was already cognizant of the investigation and had previously presented himself at its offices. The agency revealed it had placed Mr. Aboagye on a stop order a week prior as part of a tactical plan to effect his arrest, but he had departed the country without its knowledge. EOCO indicated that officers of the Ghana Immigration Service executed the stop order upon Mr. Aboagye’s arrival at Accra International Airport on Saturday, July 11, and subsequently transferred him to investigators on Sunday morning.
