From the comments online Protestants and Catholics were united in their approval of the bonfire (never thought I’d see the day) - this is not acceptable when the goal is division. There has been numerous instances of controversy over the years with what was place on the bonfire but it was never to my mind dismantled - of course not - the goal here was always to fuel division……..people are easier to control and political parties are built on it.
