He’s a simple magnetic electrical connection trick. Soldering magnets is problematic, but if you put the magnet inside a spring and solder the spring, Bob’s your uncle.

Wave soldering is a bulk soldering process that enables one to manufacture many circuit boards in a very short amount of time. It works by passing each circuit board over a pan of molten solder. A pump in the pan creates a “wave” of solder that washes over the board, soldering the components to the board.

Copper is not magnetic, but creates resistance in the presence of a strong magnetic field, causing the magnet to stop for a moment even before it touches the copper.

A simple needle can turn into a makeshift compass with a leaf & water. 🧭🪡 By magnetizing the sewing pin, you've essentially created a miniature magnet. When this mini-magnet is allowed to float freely on the water, it aligns itself with Earth's larger magnetic field, acting as a compass and pointing towards magnetic north.

A rotating magnetic field creates a bound state where two levitated dipole spheres orbit like planets. Their poles stay radial and antiparallel, repelling each other while the rotating magnet stack stabilizes the system, pure magnetic orbital dynamics.

Faraday's Law of Induction ✍️ It describes the phenomenon of how a changing magnetic field around a wire can "force" electricity along its length. As the magnet is moved up and down through the wire coil, the magnetic flux (the number of lines of force) is constantly changing. This constant change leads to an electromotive force (EMF), which behaves like a battery, providing the necessary power for electrons to flow and generate electrical current. The video demonstrates that electricity is not produced simply by placing a magnet near the wire but rather by moving the magnet. The rate at which the magnet is moved dictates how much electricity is created. Nevertheless, as seen from the chart, the movement of electricity ceases completely when the magnet remains stationary, regardless of whether it is inside the coil. Video 📸: py6cj

In the National High Magnetic Field Laboratory in the U.S. sits "Little Big Coil", the most powerful continuous magnetic field ever created by humans - reaching 48.7 tesla, over 1 million times stronger than Earth's magnetic field. This record-breaking magnet uses a hybrid design, combining superconducting coils with a resistive magnet to push matter into regimes never seen before. Backed by $195M from the NSF and ongoing state funding, NHMFL scientists use it to study quantum materials, extreme superconductivity, fusion-relevant physics, and exotic states of matter. Under fields this intense, atoms distort, electrons behave strangely, and materials reveal secrets that could redefine quantum technology, energy systems, and medical science.
