Mass Breakout During Sihanoukville Scam Raid Police raided an online scam operation in Sihanoukville this evening and a group of foreigners, mostly Chinese nationals, bolted from the building as officers moved in. The location is at the end of Occeuteal Beach. According to early Khmer reporting, some of those inside had relocated from Poipet to set up here.

Treasury sanctioned Cambodian Senator Kok An, businessman Rithy Raksmei, several associates, and their business empires including holding companies for scam center operations. The sanctions were announced alongside criminal charges, asset seizures, and a State Department reward offer tied to scam networks in Cambodia and Burma. Two Chinese nationals were charged with wire fraud conspiracy over their roles running the Shunda compound in Min Let Pan, Burma. Huang Xingshan, known as "Ah Zhe," served as a high-level manager and enforcer who personally participated in the physical punishment of trafficked workers. Jiang Wen Jie, known as "Jiang Nan," supervised teams that specifically targeted American victims, one of whom was defrauded of more than $3 million. After Shunda was seized by the Karen National Liberation Army in November 2025, Huang and Jiang relocated to a Cambodian compound and attempted to restart operations before being arrested by Thai authorities on immigration charges in early 2026. The Strike Force also seized a Telegram channel with more than 6,000 followers that recruited trafficking victims to a scam compound in rural Cambodia near the Thai border. Workers were forced to run a law enforcement impersonation scheme, cold-calling US victims while posing as JPMorgan representatives, NYPD detectives, and New York Supreme Court officials. Prosecutors announced the seizure of 503 fake investment domains and said more than $700 million in cryptocurrency tied to scam money laundering has now been restrained. The State Department added a $10 million reward for information on the Tai Chang scam centers in Burma's Karen State.

A building under construction at the premises of the Architectural Engineering Group at Roman Ridge has collapsed, trapping several workers beneath the rubble. Emergency response teams from the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) rushed to the scene and managed to rescue about 14 construction workers, who were found in critical condition. The injured have been transported to the 37 Military Hospital and the Ridge Hospital for urgent medical attention. Rescue operations are still ongoing as authorities work to locate any remaining victims.
