To make sure tonight's pottywalk 💩was safe, we had a friend come along and they took a video. There's a fair bit of fresh snow ❄️ but you can see how easily we get through on a well maintained sidewalk 🦼. And you can see what happens on the City of Edmonton's "safe and passable" walkway (spoiler alert: it hasn't actually been safe and passable for us in 2 weeks because of the base layer they left behind). Proper winter sidewalk maintenance keeps the community accessible. Note: both video clips were taken within seconds of one another. The amount of fresh snow was the same in both clips, the only difference is the first clip was a privately maintained sidewalk and properly cleared prior to tonight's snowfall. The city's section was very poorly cleared. AAC perhaps you can explain to the city that this is a barrier and according to their accessibility policy they are supposedly committed to identifying, preventing, and removing them. I've identified it so 1/3 of their job is done. 🙂 It's now been 14 days without proper access to the community. Video description for inclusivity: a rottweiler beside a power wheelchair roll easily along a sidewalk with about 2" of fresh snow. The next clip shows the wheelchair having to be rocked back and forth and side to side to get unstuck.

You do not have a past-self living within your mind or body. You only exist in this moment at the age you currently are with all that you've lived through. No part of you is a child. You cannot heal the 6-year-old self who was neglected. That neglect was very real if that's something you experienced. The pain you feel from that neglect, it matters and it's real.
